Out of the Blue...

I never made it to Thanksgiving yesterday.  I started to have an mental illness attack on the drive over to my parents.  I turned around and headed home and spent the next few hours in misery.  I remember crying and asking it to quit.  Sorry for the bummer, but that's what happened.

  8. I hate that happened, Andrew. You may be more comfortable with George and his Mom today.

But I'm also thankful that you're not being hard on yourself because of it. This is just a part of life and ya have to just keep on digging. You've made such progress and have so many great days - be proud of your successes!

  12. It's okay. We didn't do a real Thanksgiving, just a regular meal for two as usual.

Real Life is not a soap opera where you have to dress up and act a part. Get rid of the woulda, coulda, shoulda. Do what you can to let your parents know you appreciate them, but don't get all caught up in it.

  14. I'm sorry Andrew. I've missed out on things because of sudden panic attacks or depression. Don't worry about being a bummer. It's what you're feeling. It's not all rainbows. Hope you're having a better day today!

  15. Sir:

I hope you are feeling better. Please remember to DRINK A LOT of fluids. Water helps to stabilize many medicines and is quite helpful in reducing the biochemical triggers related to stress and panic attacks.

  16. The holidays are stressful for everyone and to put mental illness on top of that, well it's just too much sometimes. My worst panic attacks happened during Christmas shopping or any crowded event. Sometimes I would be standing in line to pay and just have to leave. You are no different than the rest of us in that aspect. Even yesterday I just felt strange being out. The holiday pressure is just so much sometimes that it makes it hard to enjoy. I hope you are feeling better today and can spend some time with your family that is enjoyable.
