I took this picture a few weeks ago as I and Rosa were sitting on the bench down at the shopping center talking up from the dollar store. FIWA wanted one so I called Rosa and she said it would be fine. She keeps hoping like George that my writings will make her famous. She doesn't realize how many people read this blog or she wouldn't let me do this no doubt. I love this picture and the story it tells.

ReplyDeleteAha, the famous Rosa does have a face. I can definitely see she won't be taking anyone's bullshit. Looks like a woman that can hold her own. Rough exterior covering a softer interior. It's a defense mechanism.

I agree with everyone's comments. I'll add that she looks much different than I expected. You once remarked that she looked 'manly', or something to that effect. She shows the signs of a hard life, but I think she's beautiful.

Your writing is so interesting and polished, that half the time I think it must be fiction. How do you keep it all together, and still express yourself so well? But the picture of Rosa does help verify it for me.
ReplyDeleteThank you and Rosa for sharing this picture. She's exactly how I pictured her in my mind. As I read your words, I saw the hard life and sadness in her eyes. The lines on her face are from troubles that would make other people crumble, but the strength is somewhere just below the skin.
