Like most introverts in this busy and noisy world, I have to recharge from time to time. I've spent a peaceful and quiet day cooking foods I love and curled up in my Laz-E-Boy with my laptop and a book or two. I am trying to read the sequel to Gone with the Wind when my concentration levels allow. The book was simply called Scarlett.
I also have felt a strong disdain for the phone today and haven't answered it since my last rendezvous with Tuleana. It got unplugged from the wall and my iPhone is turned off as well.
"Why aren't you answering your phones?" my father will say when he walks through my front door for the medication ritual tonight.
Welcome to the Internet...
Tuleana called me all excited this afternoon when her mother agreed to help them get hooked up with cable TV and the internet. I got very excited as well. They don't have a computer, but I have an older laptop that will allow them to surf the web and get on FaceBook. They have traditionally used their smart phones to get on FaceBook.
"The battery is shot on it, but it works fine if you plug it in," I told Tuleana."You can order cheap new batteries for it on the internet."
I am also donating an older Linksys wireless internet router so Richard can get online wirelessly with his PlayStation 3 and with the laptop as well.

The PIN Code to Family -- Access Denied...
My father went to my sister's house in Alex City this afternoon. The introvert in me remained introverted today despite being invited to come. They were going to take the boat out on the lake which the kids just love. My father says my brother-in-law's boat is very nice and a real speed demon. He said they may even do some water skiing -- something I could never master.
"Is Charlie bringing my medications?" I asked my father over the phone this afternoon on a hope and a prayer.
Please god? Jesus? That can even get this old staunch secular humanist praying.
"I am bringing them and I am bringing you something to eat as well," my father told me.
My head sunk into my chest just like Admiral Akbar in Star Wars when they destroyed the super star destroyer except Akbar's was out of relief and mine is out of consternation. This usually means I will get my medications around 11 PM. I just hope my father doesn't drink and drive. My sister and brother both will have enough sense to keep that from happening.
My father asked me the other day how I knew he had been drinking even though he wasn't slurring his words. He got really defensive about it.
"You can smell it on you!" I exclaimed very excitably. "You smell like a brewery. It comes out of your pores and with your breath."

We're Just a Little Hyper Around Here...
Gosh, Dad was hyper and talking a million miles a minute tonight belying the fact that he worked 10 hours today. He was certainly riled up, cantankerous, and boisterous.
"Do you ever get tired?" I asked my father with a smile and with an air of facetiousness as well.
This grade D- introvert was being bombarded by a grade A+ extrovert. I was inclined to toss a couple of Klonopin in his mouth when he was talking. He was bitching about my aunt, mom's sister, coming to see me at my house unannounced.
"She put you in a compromising and imposing situation," my overprotective father told me with a snarl and a growl.
"All's well that ends well and I was glad to see her," I told my father to placate him in my aunt Pamela's defense. "I was lucky that my house and bathroom were pretty clean that weekend."
It also worried my uncle Steve, a self claimed introvert as well, and he talked to my father about it.
