Move Over Headphones. We’ve Found Something New For January’s Computer Part…
I saw this tiny little Sony camera for $89.99 on Newegg and just fell in love with it. This is going to be my backup camera and will probably reside in the car’s glove box. My expensive Canon PowerShot A650 IS will probably still take better pictures at 12.9 Mega Pixels, though.
It got bad reviews on Newegg (2 out of 5 eggs), but it seems the bad reviews came from novices that didn’t know what they were doing.

Dusk Taken From the Window of My Laundry Room…
I was doing some laundry when I looked out the window and said that’s just beautiful. I ran back into the computer room to grab my camera and took this shot.

A Panoramic Sunset From Long Ago…
I was just getting to know my camera when I took this amateurish panorama of a sunset out Spring road.

Refried Beans, Salsa, and Queso...
![]() |
I'm not big on refried beans at all, but I have found a way to eat them to my pleasure. I mix a cup of Pace salsa in with the beans, rice, and cheese. I then mix it all together for a tangy, rich amalgamation with a spicy bite and a kick to it. I often have to warm them for another minute or two in the microwave as well.
"Oh, I am forgetting your Cokes," my mother said coming to my rescue just before Mrs. Sandra hit the gas and drove off,
They were sitting upon the backseat of my mother's car. These will be a nice treat tonight after my father and I have taken my medications and fed and watered the Magster.
Now, I Can View the World in Pictures...
My Canon digital camera has been out of service for a few weeks with a broken mini USB port thwarting downloading any photos to my computer. I sent it to Canon weeks ago to get it repaired. I thought it would never get here due to the holidays and shipping matters. Package tracking says it should arrive tomorrow -- the package is in Lagrange to be delivered. Hopefully, I will have photos of my taking on the blog for the most part.

Camera Back in Action!
Well, I just couldn’t wait. I just drove down to Auburn and bought that camera part I needed. Dad said he had ordered it for months, but he kept lying to me about it. Nice thing about having money is you can just go buy it yourself. No more dependency! Now, I am off to get to work on that yard care project. I have put it off long enough today! It is so hot outside, though. lol I am being a wuss today. I am tired and just want to play with my camera after months of not having it in action. Maggie captions anyone? LOL

My Thoughts at the End of the Blogging Day…
There’s a Difference…
There’s a difference in dad these past few episodes of mental illness I have experienced. He is kinder, gentler and far, far more forgiving of my foibles. He is quick to tell me he loves me and Johnny-on-the-spot about getting me medical attention.
“You need cigarettes? Don’t you?” dad just called and asked. “It’s been a week since you last asked for any. And be sure to drive over to go get your diet Cokes tonight. It is driving your mother crazy that you haven’t gotten them in days.”
I talked for a minute and dad interrupted and said, “Thank God! You sound like a different man. You’re coherent now! I don’t think you realized it, but you were talking some crazy and wacky stuff for a few days there.”
“What makes you so want to be homeless when you get like that?” dad then asked. “You have such a nice, comfortable home.”
“It’s my social anxieties,” I replied. “Out in the woods is where no one could find me. The phone wouldn’t ring and the constant knocking at my home’s door would stop. I could relax knowing I was a safe human free space for the most part.”
“Well, I am just glad you’re better. You sound so different. I will bring your cigarettes tonight. I love you,” dad said in closing.
Dad’s usual reaction when I get mentally ill is to search my home for signs of beer or over the counter medications. He didn’t do that this time. We both talked about how hard I have been trying with regards to my addictions – that I have been religiously going to AA up until I had this recent episode with my schizophrenia. We both remarked about how my life used to be constantly like it was these past few days years ago – that I had much more mentally ill days than I did good days. So there is hope and I hope I am getting better. We all now know how to better react when these situations arise – no screaming and hollering. No accusations of untoward doings. Just simply getting medical attention as promptly as possible before things get worse or spiral out of control.
Warning Will Robinson!
This is how crazy my mind works sometimes. My psychiatrist weighed me during Wednesday’s emergency visit. I weighed 186 pounds. My last visit three months ago, I weighed 167. I was extremely mentally ill and still freaked out about my weight. Dad was just ecstatic. My bulimia for some reason hits a sore spot with him and he worries about it deeply. All I could think about was that I was getting fat again. At one time in my life, I weighed 277 pounds at it’s highest. I was a chunk! So I have been obsessing today about my weight. I have cut my portion sizes in half and have put myself on a diet. I am going to have delicately break it to my doctor that weighing with every visit is not a good idea for someone who struggles with bulimia. It freaks us out!
Miss My Camera!
The part I need for my camera is only around ten to twenty bucks so why do I still not have a working camera? Because it is an extreme hassle to get dad to get “The Girls” to order it for me. I talked to dad before this recent episode of mental illness and he said he would order the part. I just have to get it together enough to write down the item number on piece of paper so he can get Tricia down at the pharmacy to order it. I could be dastardly and get mom involved. But that would certainly piss dad off. LOL Mom is so obsessive compulsive about such things that she wouldn’t let my father rest until the part got here and was in my hands. She thinks we have already gotten the part at Wal-Mart the other week.

Running Late This Morning…
I stayed up till midnight listening to radio programs and that is something I never do – staying up late these days. I slept in this morning to make up for it. So I am running late with my usual morning blog updates.
My camera is broken so no more Attitude of Gratitude videos for the time being. I was moving my big CRT Sony TV last night to my computer room and knocked my nice Canon camera off the desk onto the floor. It is still taking pictures and videos, but just won’t communicate via the USB cord with my computer. I am going to have to buy a USB SD card reader to get the videos and pictures to my computer. Maybe Wal-Mart will have one today. I also want a new wireless router. My old wireless router is ten years old, has an old wireless standard, and is cutting out when I use bit torrent. I also want a wireless PCI card for my spare computer to I can put it in the den and hook it up to my surround system in there. I will network the computer and have a jukebox of sorts pulling MP3s off the computer in my computer room. I guess I am just in the mood to shop – shop till ya drop. Getting mom involved to purchase these things is a whole ‘nother matter indeed. LOL It is sure to be an interesting day.

How I Make an Attitude of Gratitude Video…
I start out with my Canon camera on a tripod. I usually just sit on the bed. I am lucky that my view screen on my camera can be opened and swiveled forward so that I can see what is being recorded. I record the video making a daily fool of myself then upload it to my computer via a USB cable.
Next, I open Windows Live Movie Maker which can be downloaded for free. The file size of the video is usually very large often 300 to 400 Mb. I want to get this down to a small size so I “save as” for email or instant messaging. This gets the file size down to around 10 to 15 Mb so as to be easily uploaded quickly to YouTube. I don’t have much patience.
Next, I open up Windows Live Writer which is also a free download. I select insert video and upload the video directly through Windows Live Writer to YouTube with my YouTube account. It will ask for your username and password. This is a great feature of Windows Live Writer and makes publishing videos to your blog a breeze. It takes about ten or fifteen minutes to upload and process and then you just hit publish and it is on your blog.

Emotional Basket Case…
You may have noticed a lot of photos on the blog lately. Well, mom and I went to the bookstore, and I got a Dummies for Digital Photography. And a Dummies for Photoshop cs3. It has reignited my zest for photography.
Last night, I told dad I am emotionally fragile; that I couldn’t take any shit out of him. I can be an emotional basket case around the time of my injection and it is Tuesday.
“I’m sorry,” he said. “I forgot.”
All was forgiven and we are cool again. He held my hand the whole time he was here to give me my nightly medications.
George called me this morning and he is chomping at the bit for me to come and hook up his computer.
“I got the nicest one Wal-Mart offered,” he said.
Today, the cable company also comes to hook up his cable Internet. I am so excited for him. It is going to open up a whole new world to George and Mrs. Florene.
