I sat in my lazy boy for the longest time quietly smoking my pipe. Maggie was sitting at my feet preening. She suddenly jumped up into my lap and started to lick my face.
“Yuck!” I exclaimed. “I love you too girl, but not that much.”
I sat her down on the floor and went outside to enjoy the cool night air. Maggie went tearing across the yard barking at some unforeseen threat. A thousand myriad stars greeted me splayed upon the night sky. “I love living so near the country," I thought.

I miss the country also. When I lived at home we were about 15 miles outside the city. Clear nights there were so many stars. I miss that now.
