The first images from Phoenix are starting to pour in. Phoenix landed near the polar region of Mars to look for organic molecules. I just love this stuff and get so excited. I know there are some happy scientists this morning when the images came in. They are breathtaking.

We have a close friend that has been working on the Mars rover. We got to see a video of the prototype. It was really intersting.
I get excited about this stuff too! I am so not into trains (sorry bud), but I am a self-professed science geek (B.S. in Zoology) and I just love seeing new things from NASA. I do think trying to get a man on the moon is the wrong thing to do again - but I was so relieved that they decided to keep the Hubble alive. There are have been so many AMAZING discoveries from it!
How exciting!
If we took half the money it took to send this thing to Mars, and used it to feed the poor, I'd be jumping for joy.
A trip to Mars makes me sick to my stomach. The space program is my biggest "pet peeve".
It's a waste of money. It benefits us in no way, shape or form. Period.
It's nice to "discover" what's out there. But only after you take care of your own first. Mars can wait.
