George was sipping from a flask of Southern Comfort this morning. Southern Comfort was about the only hard liquor I drank during my drinking career and I have a weakness for it. I wasn't feeling well this morning when George left the house and also left that flask of Southern Comfort sitting on my piano. George is going to be pissed as I went directly and poured that expensive liquor out. I just didn't want to deal with the temptation today.
I awoke with an abscessed tooth. Nothing a regimen of antibiotics won't cure. Dad is bringing some after lunch. My gum is swollen twice it's size.
Mrs. Florene also called me this morning. She wanted to know if I was participating in Halloween candy giving. I told her I had a big bowl of Reese's peanut butter cups to hand out. I carved my pumpkin yesterday just a little late. I will light the candle inside when it gets about dark. Looking at my handy work will bring me a lot of satisfaction this afternoon. I carved the pumpkin into the DeathStar from Star Wars. I found instructions online. It looks so cool.
Yesterday, Helen cooked a huge pan of cornbread. Much larger than usual. I had cornbread crumbled into warm milk for breakfast. I do love that meal. I bet it sounds odd.

I've been reading your blog for quite some time but I don't think I've ever commented. I just have to say that even though I don't know you much more than the information that you post, I think you are an amazing person to come back from what you've been through. I'm proud of you for dumping the temptation down the drain. That is an amazing testament to your character and determination to be sober.
P.S. I'd LOVE to see your pumpkin carving skills! My 5 year old is a big huge Star Wars fan and he would probably think it was so cool. He's actually Luke Skywalker tonight for Trick or Treating. :-)
I'm proud of you, Andrew, for dumping out that temptation. Sigh...I just don't know about George. He keeps doing this kind of stuff to you. Its almost like he WANTS you to falter and be in the same boat as he is in. Glad you're smarter than that!!! Post a picture of your pumpkin...I beat it looks great!
Have fun giving out your Peanut Butter cups. I will be doing the same.
My son, the youngest at 19, dressed as a Captain from the
Star Ship Voyager. He looked so handsome! Just like he stepped off of the set!
I can't believe George dressed as a white guy for Halloween!! Has he lost his mind? That's just too much!!
If you have any left over candy, let me know. You can send it to me! AND would you please show us your pumpkin? I bet it's amazing!

My ex-father in law used to love the cornbread and milk thing for breakfast. I could never quite understand it, but guess it's a southern thing.
I think you did brilliantly to throw away the Southern Comfort...you are really strong to do that...so dont knock yourself like you sdid a few days ago...well Done Andrew...also even before i read all the other comments, i was going to ask you to put a pic of your pumpkin on your blog, we all want to see it, hope you had a good halloween.
i agree with 'Golden To Silver Val'... though he is a great friend, i think george likes to tempt you.
i wanna see the death star - i'm a big star wars fan!
this halloween we didn't give out any candy, which is just as well because most of it just ends up on my hips!
