“Charlie?” I asked as he stood in the den. “Get me a diet Coke next time. I won’t be able to resist this regular Coke today.”
Charlie said he would. We gave each other a man hug and he was on his way to my father’s house with my father’s sausage biscuit and his senior coffee. Maggie went nuts as usual at Charlie’s arrival.
On the good side of things, Maggie got the biscuits. I ate a pack of Lance 190 calorie peanut butter and honey crackers for breakfast. Far shy of the 430 calories in a McDonald’s sausage biscuit. I certainly did drink that 310 calorie Coke, though, as I munched on my crackers. It was heaven in a cup.
