I almost decided not to write anymore. It is not as if I've been writing nothing but mental fluff for months now anyway.
I went to see the neurosurgeon one last time yesterday. Dad and and I drove down to Columbus, Georgia.
"I've decided you don't need surgery," the surgeon said. "You need rehabilitation."
Dad and I both looked at each other and grinned. The exercises the surgeon gave me a few weeks ago were working. I've regained some movement in my once lead-like foot.

Helen cooked her best ever meal last Friday. I have been bragging on her ever since. Meat loaf, mashed potatoes, English peas, biscuits, and fruit salad. I thought I was in culinary heaven.
This morning Helen was changing all the linens in mom's and dad's house. Mom and the cats had been relegated to dad's room temporarily. Mom was snoring softly so I just quietly got my diet cokes and left.

I hope that you do decide to continue the writing effort. Please keep in mind all the rich stories and crystal clear writings you have accomplished in the past. They are a legacy of sorts and you have a talent that I would suggest is a way for you to experience more and more richness in your life through writing.

Glad you've averted the knife. Physical therapy is great. Will you be going to a facility to do this a couple of times a week?
sometimes I feel the same way about my blog writing and I have been known to disappear from it for a few weeks at a time. but "fluff" is what life is all about. Drama happens but fluff is fun as well. Not everything need be deep and meaningful. I love to hear about maggie and what helen cooked for you. I love to read about how well you are doing. I also love the excitemnet you have for weather and seasons.
You know my byline...mostly mundane. I'm with the others...life is best when it's simple. You have a way with words, and you have many friends here. Just keep writing.

hope you dont stop ur blog i enjoyed it so long i wouldnt know what to do about it . i love reading about your life with maggie and your friends and family but if you feel you need a vacation why not go camping for awhile to recharge your batteries i know u love to be out in the wilderness alone you could take maggie she would love it

I agree with the others. What will we do without you? It would be like a friend moving to Mars! I know that I would certainly miss your lovely writing style and the great Maggie stories.

Hi Andrew, I haven't commented in forever, but I still stop by once in a while to catch up on your life. This "fluff" you talk about is beautiful stuff, small snapshots of everyday life and everyday emotions we can all relate to. You have a wonderful writing style and you really touch the hearts of those who read you. Many of us have grown to care about you and your bittersweet lovely life down south.Never worry about whether your content is "interesting" enough. If you are writing from your heart, it always will be.
