It is March 3rd and the azaleas are blooming in my front yard. They usually and typically bloom right around my birthday and that is April 12.
"Watch a cold front come through and then it will kill them all," my father dourly told me last night.
"Oh, shit, you harbinger of bad news. You don't need to be all doom, gloom and melodramatic on me," I replied to Johnny Otis.
We will let Mother Nature play her next hand.

It was a very warm winter here in northern VA. The daffodils are up, the forsythia is blooming and my Japanese willow has leaves coming out. And it's 30 degrees this morning. They say the cherry blossoms will be out soon in DC. I hope the summer isn't unbearably hot.
If your azaleas are in danger, throw a sheet over them, that's what we do up north. Early spring and early fall, it's almost creepy around here.
