A Simple Conversation -- A Wealth of Hope!

"What are you going to do today?" Rosa asked me as she stood at the doorway to my computer room.

"I don't know what it is, but it is going to be something positive," I replied as I typed out an email to a friend.

"I feel so good lately.  I feel hope and that is something I haven't felt in years.  I can actually envision my life turning around," I wrote in the email.

"You want to go to a meeting tonight?" Rosa then asked.

"We don't have a way to get there and the nearest meeting is in Lagrange," I replied. "That is a thirty minute drive away."

"Your car getting stolen stinks," Rosa said pouting.

"Rosa is worried it is the bi-polar aspect of my illness that is causing this positiveness I am experiencing," I continued to write my friend. "I see it as hope -- hope that my normally morose nature is lifting.  I will take this pole of bi-polar any day if that is what it is."

"Online meeting!" I brainstormed as I stopped writing and Rosa still stood in my doorway. "You are going to get on the laptop and join in."

"I can't type," Rosa replied.

"But you can read and we are going to a meeting, hell or high water," I quipped.

Rosa smiled and walked out of the room to go pour herself a cup of coffee.  I am not fond of online A.A. meetings, but they will do in a pinch.  Today continues my forward progress through life with a positive outlook.  Looking for answers to problems instead of always giving excuses as to why I can't do something.  This new attitude is proving to be so contagious.  I haven't seen Rosa this excited in months as well.

What a great idea and the reason the meetings are on-line.

I am very happy for you that you are feeling so grounded. Can't wait to hear what the vocational training counselor will have to say.

You MOVE TOWARDS, and BECOME LIKE, THAT WHICH YOU THINK ABOUT, whether it is good for you, or bad for you

So think cool things!
and hang round cool people
because it will rub off
just like it says in that slogan!

cool. enjoy the meeting!

Filling your day with something, is better then not filling it at all...seems simple, but definately a challenge. I challenge you to surrounding yourself with people that bring out your smile, your happy thoughts, and your good energy. You surrounded by these things, are always good for Andrew...and Andrew alone!

I just love Maggie! Thanks for putting her back.....

You're on a roll, Andrew! Keep up the good work! I like your new "particulars". You HAVE managed sobriety - it's not a boring life, is it? !!

Bible says: "Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.... and the peace of God will be with you." This is SO true.

you know, if you phone the local aa number, sometimes you can get other aa's to give you a lift to the meeting. and back. try calling in the morning and see what they say. also if you have numbers of local aa's from your where to find you can call them direct and ask.
just an idea. it happens over here in london, and i know aa's try to help out whn they can so thers no harm in asking.

I love the online meetings myself and am so glad someone came up with them. I go to MA, but they are all the same principle as you know. I am also glad I stumbled across your site. Thanks for being so honest!

Hello Andrew,
I loved the video blog because I like the lilt and cadence of your voice, I did get a little dizzy though walking around&around your house like that though! ; )

I noticed there is a piano in your livingroom, do you play? If so, would you play on a video blog? Maybe songs of hope to bolster your present positivity (and {selfishly} help ours too?)

Cheers, and congratulations on having such a clean house. Everything is really in order and spotless at your place (I think I know what I'll do tommorrow) I know for me that having the house all clean and organized really helps with my mental health too.

Have a great day : )
