Muscadines are a wild Indian grape that grows here in the Southern US. They have largely, for the most part, been domesticated. There are some wild vines across the street and they are very, very sensitive to the change in seasons. I noticed today that their leaves have turned from a dark green to a vibrant yellow fall hue. The dogwood trees leaves have already mostly fallen off those trees. Yes, the season of change is well upon us.
The amount of daylight has also drastically changed as well. As the clock turns 7 am, the first light of dawn is on the horizon and by seven that night, the sun is gone below the horizon. When the time changes in November, it was be mostly dark at 6 pm. UGH! Someone give me some Prozac, stat! That's when I know the cavalry, my father, will soon be here. He's had to work most of the week, and I wonder what kind of mood he will be in when he arrives? Hopefully, he will be a dapper fellow -- sharply dressed and ready to administer medications as he normally is. .
