It is amazing to me that we are so close to Christmas, yet I can still photograph butterflies in the backyard. We are having another record high day today. The temperature will hit 80 today the forecasters say.
I went for a walk in the woods today and took some photos, but there weren't any butterflies to be seen. Perhaps not surprising as it the temp in Scotland today was in its low 40s. Very envious of your warm weather! Lives Less Ordinary
I will gladly trade your 80 for my cold, grey, wet 35 here, Andrew! I am such a baby when it comes to cold weather now. This isn't helping your chances of snow much though, and I know how badly you want it. There is still plenty of time before Christmas for just one nice heavy snowfall to descend on Alambama!
I miss butterflies. We don't get many in the Pacific Northwest. I have such fond memories of growing up in Texas with butterflies floating here and there.
Thank you for taking me back to a place of home.
I have a big warm fuzzy of sitting on the deck in the backyard, chatting away with my mom, her drinking a cup of coffee, peach trees to the left, the garden laid out in front of us, her flowers everwhere, and butterflies. Butterflies fluttering here, there, and everywhere.

I'm so glad you caught this. The pink reflecting in the wing is beautiful! It's warm here today too, supposed to be near 70.

Its 35 here today. Brr. It must be weird to celebrate Christmas when you can still wear shorts. But its nice to see bits of beauty from my gray world.
That picture is simply beautiful.
It felt very warm here today too. Seems odd, Doesn't it? For us to be having such warm temps in December?
