Company Came...

I was under the basement checking my pipes.  It's supposed to get down to 25 degrees tonight and I didn't want burst pipes. Soon, I heard George hollering my name and I stepped outside.

"Mommas here," George said, grinning. "She's brought pimento cheese and a loaf of homemade bread.  We're eating supper with you."

Well, what a welcome surprise and I was just overjoyed.  We ate, watched football, and just generally hem hawed.  I was sad to see them go.  I get so lonely and they are like my adopted black family.   I sulked for about an hour that they didn't stay longer, but Mrs. Florene needed to be home before dark.

Ms. Florene is a "feeder". My MIL was a feeder too. I miss her 5pm supper...

I spoke to soon. I went out to the mall and when I walked back outside to my car, it was COVERED in snow. So today marks the first official snow fall in good ole CT. I will always think of you when it snows here.

You are one lucky duck. I would love for someone to be bringing me excellent southern food.

They are very much your family. I think Miss Florene loves to have someone around she can talk to. It is different with your own children. I'm glad to see you are feeling a little better. Hope it continues.

Family is the people who care about us and Mr. Florene and George certainly fall into that category. I'm sure she feels like you are her son too. How nice of them to come and visit, it made me smile!
