I got my H1N1 swine flu shot today. And now I have this strong craving for pork chops! Pork roast anyone? Seriously, though, I've heard so much propaganda on how it is going to make me sick - on how it is a secret government plot to genetically manipulate us. I guess I've been listening to too much Coast to Coast AM. They're rife with such conspiracy theories. I will let you all know how I feel in a few days.

What happened to the sobriety counter on ur blog ? Have u been drinking beer?
You fucking suck.Get a job and quit wasking time writing this blog all day. Youre obviously smart so should be aoble to work. quit being a freeloader on your parents!
I'm sure you'll be fine. Everyone I know who has gotten the H1N1 vaccine has suffered nothing more than the needle prick. How I wish the conspiracy theorists would shut up. The number one "Science Story of 2009" in the latest issue of DISCOVER is how conspiracy theories have undermined the public's trust in vaccinations. So much so, that our daughter, who should know better, as she is a writer in the health field, has delayed getting the vaccination for our little grandson, who is in the most vulnerable age group! Of course, OCD is at work here, too, but people who suffer from OCD don't need a bunch of far-fetched ideas to feed their fears.
The anonymous bloggers have sure got the christmas spirit, huh Andrew?
Even God loves D-bags, I suppose? Dont pay them any mind and they will go away!!
hugs!!
The people that i know that have gotten the vaccine are fine no problems due to getting. NO worries! and don't let those people who are too chicken to post their nasty comments with their names get to you. It is obvious that you do all you can and try to do more.
Merry Christmas!
I am awaiting my swine flu jab..folk i know who have already had it have suffered no more ill effects than, suffer a slightly painful arm for a day or two.
I just wouldn't bother to allow Anoymous comments..anyone who has to be anonymous is usually only wanting to gripe or make acidic comments...very Sad.
PS. Andrew, "Anonymous" is a jerk. Pay him no never mind. Your blog is wonderful---it's mostly about life in general and it's a near-total "whine free zone." (All of us are entitled to a little whining now and then.) I believe you have brought hope and inspiration to a lot of folks you probably don't even know about. Plus, you can spell. That's more than one can say about Anonymous.
Wow Andrew, you have a hater reading your blog. I wouldn't let anonymous comments, it draws negative attention to your blog, and I think those kind of people thrive off of the negativity.
Hope you have a lovely Christmas Andrew! <3
Forsynthia, that was so interesting about Discover. I would like to read that issue and what they have to say. I've been diagnosed OCD as well, but my fear of the shot came mostly from the paranoia brought about by my schizophrenia.
Christina, they sure do! They are trying to cheer me up for Christmas. I am usually dour and depressed this time of the year. My father says I get it from my mother. "You Brackins (my grandmother's maiden name) are all alike. Too mure joy. Too much happiness, too much cheer gets you all depressed and in a tizzy." He said this last night on the phone when asking me to go to my sister's for Christmas Day celebrations.
Joy, I hope you get it. My brother and sister are both doctors of internal medicine and both wholeheartedly agreed for me, mom, and dad to get it!
Forsynthia, thank you, I hope this blog has done some good and helped others. It is certainly helped me and is so cathartic.
Dee, I am going to try and keep anonymous comments up. I want an old college friend who doesn't have a blogger account to be able to comments. Thanks for the kind suggestion though and looking out for me and the blog. Merry Christmas to you and your family as well.
skinny minny, that's good to know. I can be so paranoid about such things. So far, I feel fine. Don't worry, I won't let them get to me. I'm developing a thicker skin these days regarding comments.
Hey! It's me, your old college friend, L. I hope you will ignore all the horrible anonymous comments some people can make. Everyone at our house got the H1N1 flu shot, even S who doesn't like needles. He did it for R. It didn't even hurt. The seasonal flu shot made my arm hurt for a day, but the H1N1 was no big deal.
I hope you have a great day!
L
