Re-Gifting is pretty taboo and passe isn't it? Well, I had nothing to get Mrs. Florene for Christmas and she has been so kind to me. My sister gave me this GE griddle about five years ago for Christmas and I have never opened the box. I just had no use for it. Well, Mrs. Florene is getting it for Christmas from me. Now, she can make four pancakes at a time instead of just one at a time! I am getting George a six pack of Heineken, his favorite beer, for Christmas as well. Aren't I terrible? It would hurt my sister's feelings deeply to know I am doing this. Oh, well.

Oh Andrew...i do hope your sister doesn't read your Blog ???...but i imagine Mrs Florene will love it.
Joy, don't worry she doesn't read it. Dad does occasionally which can temper what I write.
I think it is thoughtful of you to re gift that griddle that you have never used...to Mrs Florene. I think your sister might understand as well. Don't worry about it, you are doing a thoughtful thing. It is so nice to be able to GIVE, isn't it?
Regifting is an wonderful tradition, esp. when the person who receives the gift can really use it.
Well, you all are sure making me feel better! Mrs. Florene is going to love the griddle and will use it all the time.
I think regifting is just fine...from the point of view of a sister. I would be ok if my brother regifted somethimg I gave him. I half expect it as I am not always good at figuring out what people need or want for Christmas...mary from ox ....sorry it is easier for me to comment as anon when I am on the internet frm my phone
Mary, it so good to see you comment. Thanks for the show of support about the regifting.
Better she use it than it just sit in the cupboard.
I think re-gifting is a great idea myself. Another thing I really really like is freecycling. It's like regifting but it's among a larger group of people. It really works out great for everyone!
Jenn, well said!
Irishcoda, I will have to check out freecycling. I have a computer desk I have never even put together and gotten out of the box. I need to find it a good home and clear up space in my computer room closet.
i don't see anything wrong with re-gifting as long as you were gracious when you received the gift and the gift giver doesn't find out you re-gifted it. Sometimes there are things we just don't use or need that we receive and I think it's worse to let them sit there unused. I know Miss Florene will love it. I think it's a wonderful idea.
Nothing wrong with regifting. Mrs. Florene will be VERY pleased with her Christmas gift. I don't think your sister would mind. As some of the previous folks said, better for Mrs. Florene to use it rather than being put away in a closet. Merry Christmas, Andrew.
I don't thnk your sister will mind either and Mrs. Florence will surely cook you some of her wonderful pancakes on her new griddle. But I don't think George needs a pack of beer for Christmas. Maybe he doesn't need that kind of encouragement.
Andrew there is no shame in regifting. You are thoughtful and kind.So have you given it to her yet?
