Practice makes perfect and I now have the treble clef portion of We Three Kings of Orient Are down pat. As soon as I got home from the Humane Society, I sat down and began to play – eager to continue last night’s efforts. Next comes the bass clef line so lets see if I can get both hands to cooperate in playing this song. It is going to be slow going at first. It feels good to be playing again after a multi decade hiatus.
My Inquisitive and Nosey Friend…
Tracy was asking me questions on why I wasn’t married today.
“I have a dog and she acts like my wife,” I replied to Tracy with a laugh.
Maggie is a lot like my wife. She can be demanding at times.
“Well, you are a good looking guy who has a good personality. A woman should have snatched you up by now.”
“It takes two to tango,” I reminded her. “I just haven’t found the right person yet and I carry a lot of baggage as well – the proverbial skeletons in the closet.”
I didn’t elaborate on the baggage part and thankfully Tracy didn’t ask. Nobody where I volunteer knows I have a mental illness. They just know I have to go to the bathroom every day at noon like clockwork. I am taking my medications.
