Spent some time installing a better heatsink/fan combo for my processor tonight. I am running one of the Prescott core Pentium 4s and you can fry an egg on them. I am hoping this will stop the BSOD'S and the random restarts.
While I was at it, I cleaned up my blogging computer. Here is the Celeron D processor removed from the motherboard. This small item is surprisingly heavy. I cleaned it up and put on some fresh thermal grease and reseated it.

Hey Andrew! Neat job there. I read your blog everyday on a reader but don't actually drop in to leave comments often. That photo blog is a great idea but I keep this blog alive! You don't know how much I look forward to reading about your day. Keep writing!
God bless you and happy holidays!
hi, just given you a link, reciprocate if you like :)
It is always nice to be hands on and do something to your computer. It is very nice that you have the knowledge to do that.
Armando has taught me most of what I know about the inside of a computer. When he lived in Chile, and my soundcard went bad, he made me a pdf file with instructions and taught me how to change it. That made me more confident to open the case and go for it.

Hi Andrew ~ I would sure miss you if I did not get my daily dose of 4th Avenue Blues. I would especially like to see you add a photo blog cuz I like seeing all your pics, but Pleeeeze do not forsake and abandon those of us in blog world that look forward to you writing for us. I do not usually comment this is my first. (I have emailed tho you know me as onesadmomma)
You do know how amazing it is for us non-technical people to see someone who understands the inner-workings of a computer? That's a gift.
Your sobriety counter is marking up some days there. Congratulations on your determination. You should be proud.
You are very skilled with the computer, very impressed. It is yet another talent that you have!
Have a good day!
Peace,
Lena
See, I have no clue about all this stuff..why can't we live closer so I could have you over for a crusty breakfast and in return you could show me your computer magic?!!
Happy almost hopefully snow for you day!
Always,
Crusty~
Do you realize how overwhelming the thought of doing SOMETHING to my computer is? You know how technically challenged I am! LOL! I have problems plugging in wires to the correct port. We had to have our "adopted" son install our new printer! I am IMPRESSED with the technical abilities!!!!!!
LOOK AT YOUR SOBRIETY COUNTER! 24 DAYS!
I have no idea what any of that is, besides amazing. You have a gift for these things.
