I am trying to get back into my daily habit of hiking several miles. This afternoon found me out Spring Road. The scenery out there is beautiful and these photos don't do it justice. It is hard to believe this land is only a mile from my home. I did manage to walk two miles. Not bad for a first day.
My parents just had their house repainted and spent a fortune getting it done. I hate this color and I think it is hideous. It looks like some great big pumpkin! My father loves the color though and when I get asked about it, I just say, "It certainly looks interesting."

Well it is interesting and it will fade in time some, but well I'm not sure what else to say lol. Your outdoor pictures were pretty.
close up, it almost can be called "Teracotta", which is one of my favorite decorating colors. It works well with nature. I find it daring...I am not sure where your dad was going with his choice, but who are we to disagree with his color choice?

Two miles is a good long walk for any day. I hope it felt good getting back out there. The pictures are wonderful, it is fortunate to have such beautiful scenery within walking distance. Interesting is the word for that color:)
Kudos to you for the long walk, Andrew! If I walked two miles, you'd probably have to carry me home! :-) What beautiful country scenery, I wish it was like that here. New Mexico is very barren where I live. Your parents have a lovely home, but I totally agree with you about the color! :-)
By the way, "interesting" is a word that comes in handy. I used to use it for my son's artwork when I wasn't quite sure what he drew. :-)
"unique" might also be an appropriate adjective, if the occasion might arise... ;)

Your parents home is lovely. I especially like the drive through and arches on the lower level. Southern homes are very gracious. The color isn't something I would have chosen but it isn't bad. The teracotta color will fade a bit in the sunlight and when the trees are in full leaf it will make a very pretty picture.
Gorgeous pictures. That looks like a peaceful walk. Lots of time to think and admire the beauty.
Your dad has a lovely home... the color though... well... my opinion doesn't matter. With the ultra white trim I think a faded brown would look good.

I love the color even tho I would never have though of it myself. Is there a door that leads to the deck above the arch? Is the interior as striking as the exterior?

2 miles is really great for a first days walk. I hope your legs aren't too sore. It looks like great scenery to walk and reflect upon.

Some nice open space out there on SPring Road. Seems so solitary. Must be nice when summer comes especially.

Crusty~ the style..sure the color is very bold, but his way...isn't that what we all want? To pick our own colors for our own walls so to speak?
What a great house. I think there are hints of the meditrerranean there. I bet it will get more familiar with time.
