Souvenirs from Iraq

My brother spent 7 months in Iraq last year as a doctor assigned to a group of Marines. He sent me this flag and plaque as a Christmas gift last year. My great aunt had them mounted for me and here they are hanging on the wall of my bedroom. I love the way the flag was mounted. Every time I look up laying in the bed I think of my brother and his service to our country. He said it was terribly hard being over there with the highlight of his day being the wonderful food they served the servicemen in Iraq.

You must be very proud. I'm so proud of all of the women and men who serve our country.

Kudos to your brother being in Iraq. It's not an easy tour of duty no matter what they do.

The flag and plaque are a nice touch to the decor Andrew ;-)

Thanks so much for visiting my blog regularly. I cherish your thoughts and friendship.

This is an awesome display in honor of those serving in Iraq, Andrew. My son was there, I am so proud of him, also very grateful that he returned safely home.

A wonderful commemoration of our service men and women. A good reminder to appreciate them every day.

I really like your personal info. part. You sound like a very interesting person, and one who people should be proud of for trying to get your 'ducks in a row.' Good job.

If you get a chance, check out my blog at eight-thirty.blogspot.com.

Knowing someone who has been over there makes it more real doesn't it?

My husband is going to Afghanistan for 4 months, starting in April. This is his second tour to the middle east, and sadly I have his flag folded and sitting on my window sill. I wish I had a triangular box, like yours.

The flag and certificate are beautiful, and I think I would have been so honored had they been given to me!

No judgement, No advice, but i am worried about you. Please call your physician. Well, I guess that was advice. I apologize. But please listen. I only say it because I care, just like all the other well meaning, advice givers that you have.

Have a great Saturday Andrew.
