It's hard to hear you down, but always good to hear you. I'd rather you be yourself and be honest, than try to say or write what you think we want to hear. I hope you get some rest, and feel better. I'll be thinking about you.
Do not give in, Andrew. Take charge. Go for a walk and help someone.
Such as: make soup from scratch to take to Dan. It is easy, really.
Just start a pot of water to boil, and as it is heating up, chop up whatever is in your 'fridge for fresh vegetables. ("No fresh vegetables" is no excuse. Go shopping!) Add a can of black beans or leftover meat if you have it, or saute a cut-up chicken breast to add. Fresh lemon juice added at the end plus seasonings to taste, and head for Dan's while it is still hot. (Chopped-up escarole stirred in just before serving adds wonderful color and nutrition.)
I'll bet Dan would show you the strawberry preserves he made, and share some too. (Take a loaf of bread with you!)
A feast with a friend. You can do it (or some other reaching out beyond yourself) one step at a time. Just begin, and the rest will follow. Choose to be proactive. Take back control.
Hi, Andrew. I am back. I made the soup! It is here by me at the computer, and its warmth feels good on this chilly day. I will enjoy the flavors and imagine you are sitting at your table also enjoying a meal, smiling with knowledge and acceptance of the small things that make each day special and good.
Zirelda is right on. You are real, and rare, and a joy to so very many with your gift of yourself in your writings.
It's really hard sometimes. I really encourage you to make yourself get dressed and go outside for a walk. There are days when I just want to lay in bed and cry. Then I feel guilty and angry at myself and cry even harder. That's when I know I need to get dressed, even if you have to cry while doing it. Get out and get moving.
Eat two tablespoons of honey and take Maggie and a good book for a walk.
You are amazing. Every small word you write is a large step for me. Words cannot express how appreciative I am that you put yourself out there for general consumption.
Jonathan, we all understand that your illness ebbs and flows so I think your regular readers are prepared for the occasional paranoia. We have our issues as well… some are silly and some more serious. There are days when I obsess over something that may be small… when I wake up in the middle of the might from a deep sleep hyperventilating. Shoot… its just life I guess. We take you as you are… and we know you feel the same way about us. Hang in there… I agree with zirelda! …and the beat goes on.
At first I was so happy to see that there was an audio post, but as I listen to this repeatedly, tears are running down my face. I wish so badly that I could make it better for you. It is so unfair that a wonderful person has such struggles. Your voice. Your voice is so soothing, yet so sad.

Honesty is rare. Being real is rare. You're there in spades.
