You know, I had been concerned with the amount of hours you were working. And paid or not, you were working. Very rarely does a volunteer work THAT many hours. Maybe you did take on too much. You had intended on a nice volunteer job a couple of days a week maybe half a day. What you got was 40+ hours a week. Plus a volunteer almost never has a key and to be asked to "open the shop", is over the top.
If you go back, you should (in writing) map out what a Volunteer's Job really is. In CA, Volunteers aren't allowed to clean cages, for instance. You could help Miss Barbara get a handle on what a volunteer is and what they should do. This would be helpful for future volunteers too.
And, oh yeah, you got rid of Tut; even if you never volunteer again, you got rid of Tut. (What happened to her man, Richard?)

Sharyn, I agree. Mrs. Barbara was asking too much of me and it is a hard and dirty job. Also, it is a long drive spanning three cities and Old Fuss and Feathers was having to pay for the gas to and fro not even factoring in the wear and tear on my car. For some reason, he insists on paying for my gas. I will keep your thoughts in mind when they hire someone new to do my job and when I decide what to do about my volunteering capacity. I think I am going to stay on volunteering and see how things go. That would thrill Tracy to death.  Just in a limited capacity.

RichardTut and Richard are still together. Richard lives off of Tut’s disability and plays his PlayStation 3 games all the time. He recently turned 49. All he does is obsess over Star Trek and Star Wars. I didn’t write about this for fear of repercussion, but I took him and Tut to the pawn shop a few weeks ago. He pawned two PS3 Batman games for $10 and bought tobacco with the money. They said they only wanted to go to the pawn shop, but added on an extra trip all the way down to West Point and the SunCo gas station to buy Tobacco. What a mess! I vowed never to do that again!!!

Like Greyhounds Out of the Gate...

Just the facts, Ma'am...

Maggie woke me up at 4 PM today. "You've slept enough," she seemed to be imparting. I don't know what made me sleep so long. I guess I needed it. It's been a busy past few weeks mentally, emotionally, and socially. I headed straight to the kitchen to eat a bowl of Frosted Flakes. I woke up starving. I swear I am going to be the next spokesperson for Malt-O-Meal Frosted Flakes.

A supposed friend on the blog and on Facebook befriended the lady I was talking about yesterday. Does anyone else think that was creepy? I felt they were keeping tabs on me and spying on me -- discerning the veracity of my blog posts. They got banned from my Facebook account and I urged my lady friend to ban them as well and she did. That still makes my blood boil thinking about it. It was a breach of trust.

My father is in Alex City about something to do with my niece's dance program. Certainly, they wouldn't be having a dance recital this early in the afternoon? It was most likely a ruse. He said he would call me when he got home which will probably be around nine and medication time. I feel I can't go that long tonight without my meds. I better suck it up and get ready for a long wait.

Dear Richard... Many of you may remember a lady I was dating several years ago named Laura. Well, I am friends with her ex-boyfriend on Facebook and he has moved to the Valley with his newly wed wife. He doesn't have a car and is living on one of the county roads around here. He asked me last night if I would give him rides to Kroger and Walmart sometimes. I said yes the big-hearted guy I am. I just have to send him my telephone number, but I am carefully debating over it at the moment.

Maybe my Schizoaffective disorder is at work. I seem very negative and paranoid today.

Train of Thought…

csx-diesel-locomotive-calvert-koerberI spent most of the morning photographing engines down at the railyard.  My hopes are to build up a photo database of the engines and their numbers to share on the internet. I want engines from the Atlanta and West Point corridor.  The problem is that all these newer engines look the same to me and I can’t tell them apart.  What happened to EMD F7a’s and Sharknosed Baldwin's? All engines unique and easily identifiable.

Interesting Liaisons…

10622802_851120751566949_7348823895013127890_nI’ve become good friends with Laura’s last boyfriend recently.  Remember Laura? The chick I was going out to dinner every week with?  His name is Richard.  I affectionately call him poor Richard. His life is kind of like a soap opera or Shakespearean tragedy these days.   His new girlfriend got pregnant, she is calling the baby peanut, and is saying that Richard is not the father.  Her last partner before Richard is in jail and the timeline just doesn’t add up. Richard is willing to step up to the plate and take care of Jessica and the baby.   Richard and I chatted to almost 4am this morning mainly about women, relationships, and dating. Sometimes, all a friend needs to do is just listen and acknowledge. He is going to have to get a paternity test done when the baby is born to put an end to all the nonsense.

Favorite Model Railroad Engine…

The Alco RS-3 is my all time favorite engine. This is a 1950’s and 1960’s era engine.

Waiting For Full Bellies…

honey-banana-peanut-butter-muffins-5-12-11-24:03am --  As usual, I didn’t buy enough groceries for yet another week. I am running very low on most my items. I was in the grocery store yesterday getting the ingredients for Maggie’s muffins and everything looked and smelled so good. I saw some chocolate cupcakes in the deli/bakery I am getting tomorrow if they haven’t sold yet.

Charlie should be here in about 5 hours. He usually arrives around 9am. I am starving and especially keen on that gigantic Coca-Cola Charlie brings me every Sunday.  I hope he brings an orange juice as well as that has been our modus operandi along with two bacon, egg, and cheese biscuits and a hash brown, for the longest time.

I made some homemade crunchy peanut butter, banana, and honey dog muffins yesterday for Maggie.  She will get two muffins this morning as I eat my breakfast. (An Aside: With wanton abandon, I ate one of the muffins yesterday myself and they do taste delicious.  Maggie better watch out before I eat all her treats!)

You Don’t Know What You’ve Got ‘Til it is Gone…

Laura’s completely ignoring me online now and she no longer calls at all.  She can see when I sign into Facebook chat.  She’s burning all her bridges and there is going to be nobody to come and get her when she realizes the colossal blunder and mistake she has made.  You don’t put all your eggs into one basket as the old saying goes. Even poor Richard, her hapless, goofy, last boyfriend she lived with for months, is being ignored.

Me?  I’m not a very good friend because I am kind of glad it is all over now.  It was expensive taking her out to eat every week, and I don’t think she appreciated it.  It was amazing my father paid for all that without even a grumble or a flinch.  Also, it will give me time to lick my wounds are far as my social anxieties are concerned. I have to admit that it does hurt being scorned like that, though.

My parents are very glad this has happened as my father says I am naïve about such womanly things and “that lady” was taking advantage of my soft hearted nature.

“You don’t need to be with a lady that’s been married three times,” my mother also told me over the phone last night. “That’s a surefire warning sign!”

It’s All Cool in Coolsville…

Laura and I both agreed to remain good friends and nothing anymore serious last night. We will still go out once a week as friends.   She still calls me every night and boy, that girl can talk let me tell you.  I was rather relieved over Laura’s revelation about our relationship.  It got me off the hook.  I was getting in over my head.   She is in love with this guy named Wayne in Statesboro, Georgia.  She wants to go live with him in a little camper trailer in the back of Wayne’s sister’s house.

“Most men just want just what is between my legs,” Laura told me on the phone last night. “But you’re different.  You show me respect. You treat me like a lady.”

Why do some women only like and want the bad guys that treat them badly? Laura is a poster child and glutton for punishment on those regards. She is a tale tell story of abusive, abandoning, and violent relationships.

I, quite early in the relationship I might add, realized Laura was an overly worldly woman – well versed in the seedier sides of life.  It kind of reminded me of the days I hung out down at the Piggly Wiggly with George and the gang. Now, that was a rough bunch. Clara, my homeless friend, loved me, but she would also steal my wallet in a heartbeat.   Laura’s kind of lived a similar tumultuous life it seems for many years until her parents let her move back in a few years ago. It has given her stability and a home – a chance to put her life back together again.

Her last boyfriend, Richard, is completely obsessed with her and sometimes texts her up to 20 to 30 times a day.  He befriended me on Facebook a few days ago no doubt going on reconnaissance missions.  He is a skinny, gangly guy that I am not afraid of so I am not worried about any retribution.  He has been nothing, but congenial with me online. Even going so far as to liking some of my posts.
