Poor Poor Pitiful Me…

I’ve been running a high fever today along with neck and back stiffness and pain. Hopefully, I will be back tomorrow for a more informative post.

Obsessions…

I had this poor deluded soul who lived in Toronto reading my blog in the beginning. She had a vendetta against another homeless blogger named Crystal who she said had Munchausen's by Proxy. She actually found my parent’s phone number somehow and called my mother who gave my phone number to Diana (her name). She began calling me very regular – all a plot and ploy to ensure I was really homeless beforehand. She was an intense woman with a lot on her plate. She was also trying to get the loud ice-cream trucks off the streets and also kids on minibikes. Obsessed would be a better word to describe her. Yes, that would describe her to a T.

My point is I don’t want to be like this woman I so disdained with regards to my campaign against the truck driver in this neighborhood. I won’t write about it again until something more major happens. This is not going to turn into the Andrew vs. Big Truck Show. More normal posts will commence as of now.

Bah! Humbug!

I just don’t feel much like writing a blog post today. Do you ever feel that way about your own blog? Nothing’s wrong. I am just caught in some kind of writer’s malaise. I was going to write about how I am getting all these links from porn sites. I wonder what that is all about? If they are looking for naked pictures and/or erotic blog posts, then they are going to be sorely disappointed. A thousand visits and not one comment? Makes me think some kind of shenanigan is going on.

Tracy will be home soon and I have some spaghetti and meat sauce bubbling away gently on the stove. I assume you can guess what we are having for supper? We haven’t had spaghetti in awhile so I decided that would be our meal. A quick run to Kroger gathered all the ingredients.

I Think I Like You!

No amorous affairs last night. Tracy was just exhausted after a busy and full day yesterday. She was just glad to have me as company. I was running late last night and didn’t arrive until 9:30 pm my time. I called Tracy on the drive to Opelika and told her to go ahead and order the pizza – that I would be there in about 20 minutes. We ate pizza and Tracy then fell asleep on the couch full and satiated. It tickled me when Wheezy got up on her curvaceous hip and took a nap as well.

Nothing good was on TV last night even though Tracy has every channel they offer so I got on my tablet and tried countless different blog templates until I found one I liked. I get tired of the same old template and have to change from time to time.

12 am my time rolled around and I woke Tracy encouraging her to go to bed. She followed me to the bedroom and we both put on our sleeping clothes. Sleeping on Tracy’s bed is like sleeping on a sea of feathers. It is so very soft. I usually wake up with a sore neck and back, but fared well last night. I was asleep about the time my head hit the pillow. All I remember is Tracy cuddling up against me and I was gone.

Tracy warmed up some cream cheese and cherry Danishes for breakfast this morning which were fresh and delicious. We were both groggy and sleepy eyed, though. We were also very quiet and not saying much. Tracy and I are both not morning people.

“I envy you,” she said. “You don’t have to work today.”

“I am heading home and getting on the computer,” I told her delicately with a Cheshire grin.

Jurassic Blogging…

I really should give up my efforts here and join everyone on Facebook. Every single one of my my old blogging friends is over there. I could share the meme of the day and comment on my sister-in-law’s countless photos of her kids. I could watch cooking videos that are too complicated to make or remember. The problem is that Facebook is not conducive to anonymity and long form writing. My writings would be neutered per se – short blurbs that wouldn’t tell a complete story. I could never, ever write about Johnny Otis’s forays into drinking for example. The saving grace for Facebook for me is all the scale modelling groups and model railroading groups.

Windows Live Writer Lives On!

OLW_screenshotI found out last night that Microsoft released the code to Windows Live Writer and made it open source. It is now called Open Writer and works under Windows 10. Let’s hope it is actively improved with new features. If you've ever used this tool for blogging then you will never go back to blogging with blogger's cumbersome and clumsy interface.

Open Live Writer

openlivewriter.org/

Open Live Writer is an open source application enabling users to author, edit, and publish blog posts. It is based on a fork of the well-loved but not actively developed Windows Live Writer code. Open Live Writer is provided under a MIT license.

Virulent Happenings...

I've got the flu and I was one of the inoculated millions who got a flu shot. It is probably the first time in ten or more years I have had a cold or the flu. I waved off tonight's grocery visit despite my father's urgings. Dad has had the crud as well. Horsefly is really, really sick, and Charlie and Janice have been sick as well. You feel as if you've been hit by a Mack truck. I might be quiet for a few days so don't think something terrible has happened. I just don't feel well. I'm probably too busy blowing my nose to blog.

Is Blogging Narcissistic?

Is blogging narcissistic? I mean, who wants to read what I wrote today -- the mundane aspects of my life. A lady who shall remain unknown was going on about another blogger who writes mundane details of their life. "Does she think we want to read this shit?" were her words of wisdom. It made me feel self-conscious. I am a fan of her blog so it took me by surprise that she would write such a thing. Envy? Jealousy? Or just having a bad day? I guess we are all subject to social gaffes from time to time.

Old School Blog Template...

Quite frankly, the other "click to read" templates were getting on my nerves as well. I put up that poll and the majority of voters hated it also. That urged me the most to change it. These new blog templates are pretty, but just not that functional -- nice if you like looking at photos, but not so cool if you just want to read a blog post.

I've always liked this template. I especially like the two side columns. I will use it for awhile and we will see how it goes. Feel free to express your thoughts as well. I'm no stranger to criticism as far as blogging goes. I have to keep in mind that I can't please everybody and everyone.

This Blog Sucks!

I got told that today. I've come to the conclusion from my last post that this blog is banal and boring as hell. I don't know what to write about other than computers and my milquetoast life. I learned my lesson from my last blog about writing fast and loose about fictional characters in my life trying to make things more interesting. Who wants to read about my spaghetti sauce recipe, my sleeping habits, and when my next injection is due?

"Work Sets You Free" Arbeit Macht Frei

That was taken out of context. I've just had a lot of people ask me what it meant so I added a caption. I can see how it would be conferred that work would set the Jews free, but that's not what I meant. Gas chambers certainly don't make you free. There are a lot of wage slave jobs around here you can get that are just as stifling and slave-like. I was also not conferring that work is a way to independence as well.

Like a Blustery Fall Day After a Cold Front...

This is exactly how Roger's Brunswick stew looks.
It is really exceptionally windy today. The trees are getting all blown about like crazy. It is like a late fall today and it is cool outside as well. We should be in the upper eighties with popup thunderstorms this time of the year. They say we have an 80 percent chance of rain today, but I don't believe it. The sun is shining very brightly today with few clouds in the skies.

Papa just stopped by with a barbecue plate from Roger's Barbecue. I was elated as it was a surprise, I was very hungry, and I hadn't eaten yet. I sat in the kitchen with my kitchen computer eating lunch as Maggie vied for my attention. I gave Maggie little morsels of barbecued pork that she basically inhaled.

"You are going to get choked," I told her warily.

The plates are very expensive, but they put a lot of food on them to make up for it -- I almost couldn't eat it all. The Brunswick stew was exquisite with barbecued pork, chicken, and corn in a thick, smoky and zesty tomato based sauce.

Experimentation...

I used a thirty party program to measure how much traffic the blog was receiving every day. Blogger was reporting I was getting over a hundred people a day and it is actually around 20 people a day. I was disappointed, but that's how the ball bounces some days. I am getting paid back from my indiscretions from my previous blog. Karma is a bitch some days.

Toast On Tuesday...

It was raining heavily when I woke up at high noon. It was music to my ears. We really need the rain and we really need the NWS to stop harping on about it.

I ambled into the kitchen to scramble some cheese eggs and make some toast. Maggie was underfoot throughout the whole venture. She is certainly one proud pup that I am cooking breakfast again when we wake up.

"Maggie? You'd eat anything even if it was still moving!" I said jokingly to my furry little friend.

It reminded me of the time Maggie brought in a live bat! Oh, the rigors of a dog door!

I am at a loss as to what to do with myself these days. I've decided once again I don't particularly enjoy Facebook much. It is like everybody is vying for your attention and trying to outdo everybody else. And there is a whole heluva lot of people graduating from high school that I have no idea who they are.

I am certainly running out of steam as far as this blog is concerned as well and I have no desire to play video games these days. I find myself a lot of the time posting to my blog out of boredom and I spend most of my spare online time at Wikipedia reading in a noisy room as Maggie makes all sorts of noises. Grunting, whining, snorting, sniffing, farting.

It is days like today that I really miss downing a dozen beers. The day would just fly by if I had a 12 or 18 pack and I wouldn't have a care in the world. It would be like looking at the world through rose-colored glasses. Oh, but the hangover would be hell I haven't had a drink in so long.

I Love the Way You Say Good Morning...

Well, it is 3:30 in the morning and I am feeling like something the cat drug in. Yes, I am cycling mental illness wise and cannot sleep -- an eye-blearing lack of sleep. It will take me a few days to get back on track and that is sleeping at night again. Maggie's got the right idea and is snoozing on the computer room bed at the moment.

Charlie will be here in a few hours with breakfast. I have discovered that I dislike McDonald's biscuits (something is lacking) but I love the sausage encapsulated within. I am going to make some Andrew's sausage toasters this morning with toasted loaf bread from my toaster oven. I still have a pretty fresh loaf of Sunbeam thin sandwich bread. I will toast 4 slices and then spread on some mustard and mayonnaise and then add two sausage patties. Anything's got to be better than those McDonald's biscuits.

A few blog changes are in order and no, they weren't forced upon me. This is a completely voluntary choice. I am only going to post photos taken from my very own origin or my digital camera. I hope it will get me back in the hobby and encourage me to use my camera. Blog template? I am just going to keep spinning the roulette wheel till a land on a number I like.

Negativity Fosters Negativity...

I truly believe that negativity fosters more negativity. I took a post down today that I thought was too negative -- a post about my father getting on to me for wanting a part time job. I felt it was too harsh on my father's reputation as he is a good man. He truly only wants what is best for me, but he can be a little overbearing at times.

Comment Replies...

glittermom said...
Does your dad pan fry his pork chops? I haven't had pork chops for a long time. They have smoked pork chops that taste like ham. Your dad would like that.

We call those smoked pork chops Smithfield pork chops. Glittermom, he usually bakes them most of the time, but we always prefer them fried. He has a crock pot recipe he made earlier in the week where he cooked in his slow cooker. It is Campbell's chicken and rice soup and pork chops which he cooks for hours. The pork chops fall off the bone they are so tender.

One Month Without Facebook...

Today marks one month since I've signed into Facebook. When I stopped, I was posting what was on my blog via copy and paste. It was entirely inappropriate stuff to share with family, high school chums, and old girlfriends. I decided it was best to let my mostly anonymous blog be my social and creative outlet. Interestingly, I haven't missed it one bit. There were a lot of aggravating things about Facebook that I didn't care to see anymore. Two of the biggest culprits were politics and religiosity -- both things I choose to not write about on my blog as they are too polarizing.

Christina is Right...

I was examining this morning why I feel the need to write these occasional "I'm gonna quit!" entries in my blog. I guess, to be honest, is I feel discouraged with the blog and need an extra "atta boy" and "don't quit writing because we enjoy what you have to say" type feedback. I am only human and terribly extremely fallible.

I also feel I embarrass myself by writing about my situation in life like my dependence on my father for everything for example (at least I am being honest I guess). I hope you can forgive me and understand why I do this. It is terribly embarrassing the next day when I feel the extreme need to write a post and do. I guess I write for the attention I get when I blog. I can assure you another reason I write is for the craft of writing itself which I do so very much enjoy.

*************
(Here we go again!)

Papa arrived last night a little after nine to Maggie's and my elation. He was terribly tired, though. I dutifully took my medications and melted into my couch along with my father. It had been a topsy-turvy day for me as well. My eyes were burning from lack of sleep after being so rudely awakened yesterday.

"I am so praying your mother is in the bed and I am not going to get asked a hundred hard questions as soon as I pull into the garage," he told me looking haggard.

Mom had called me earlier and told me she needs me to drive her to the bookstore in Auburn. She has some books on order.  I told her I would be glad to drive her down there.

"You know I would be glad to take you! We are only going to the bookstore," I told her. "Let's keep it simple with no other diversions."

I also told her if we were going to get something to eat then it was going to be to go.

Ultimus, The Last Day of a Blogger's Career...

I'm hanging up my hat. I really have blathered too much on this blog. It is like quenching a thirst -- I come back everyday to expunge my life for the whole world to see.

I've been writing blogs since 2001 when I found "the homeless guy" blog and I was homeless too. My first blog was "Homeless and Disabled in Alabama". I feel this need to just shut-up, be quiet for a change, and go about my way. I've said my fill and I have surely made some social gaffes in my time. Now, it is your turn to shine. Start a blog and share it with us in the comments on this post and we will read along with you. You can be my legacy!

Let the Good Times Roll...

It's a good feeling when you expect a nasty comment, and it turns out to be really funny and nice. I guess I've been blogging so long that I am jaded.
