"Work Sets You Free" Arbeit Macht Frei

That was taken out of context. I've just had a lot of people ask me what it meant so I added a caption. I can see how it would be conferred that work would set the Jews free, but that's not what I meant. Gas chambers certainly don't make you free. There are a lot of wage slave jobs around here you can get that are just as stifling and slave-like. I was also not conferring that work is a way to independence as well.

I was just saying you shouldn't relate your hunger to the Jewish plight. Nothing to do with work.

I didn't infer with that as well. I use my Auschwitz Mantra to help me remember how lucky I am to have what I have. I could have it a whole helluva lot worse.

Thank you Glittermom for what you said.

Andrew I didn't mean to stir anything up but it's difficult for me as a Jew
to see Holocaust images casually dropped into dialog as if they are meaningless.
I know Andrew that you mean no harm. This morning when I left my comment I had just finished reading "Night" by Elie Wiesel for the second time and as someone who has stood under that sign and seen the camps, read the diaries and stories, lost family, it bothered me.
If you'd like to learn more Yad Vashem http://www.yadvashem.org has amazing material.
