Thursday Afternoon Check-in

I enjoyed my first online A.A. meeting this afternoon. I was rather surprised at the order and civility of it. You would think when you get a bunch of recovering drunks in a chatroom that chaos would ensue.

Rosa feels much better this afternoon. She has taken up knitting and is knitting me and her woolen caps for winter. I love to walk into the den and see her on the couch knitting away. It reminds me of my grandmother and is so comforting.

I fixed us a lunch of pimento cheese sandwiches with a garnish of sliced banana peppers. I had never made pimento cheese for Rosa and she just loved it. Rosa can eat anything and will still stay slim. I am trying to keep the weight off and still eat well by walking six miles everyday. So far, so good. I walked three miles this afternoon and plan on walking to the Thursday night A.A. meeting.

Tonight is our weekly hotdog supper for me, Rosa, and my mother. It has gotten to be a tradition. I've already prepared the sauer kraut, wrapped the buns in aluminum foil and placed them in my toaster oven, and pulled out the pan to boil the dogs. Everything is ready to go and I look forward to our meal together tonight.

How was your day?

I'm doing ok, thanks for asking! I just had a job evaluation at work. I knew it was coming, but just didn't know when. The anxiety from that kills me even though I know I'm doing an ok job and that there is nothing to fear. I guess everyone just hates being judged. Hope you continue to have good days.

Claudia,

I know that feeling all too well when I worked at the Unversity. It can be unsettling at best. Hope it comes out well for you and I am so glad to see you comment. I miss you!

Lovely, peaceful thoughts here! Knitting is so very relaxing. I used to enjoy it more before the arthritis in my hands made it difficult. It is delightful to imagine your Rosa knitting. How I wish you had a camera now! :-)

Six miles a day is excellent exercise! The last time I lost all the weight was done exactly that way, lots of walking every day. I never felt better and was never healthier. GOOD FOR YOU!!

Sauerkraut dogs, mmmm - I'll be there...what time? :-)

Glad you're having a good day! I bet your online AA meeting was interesting; the most interesting thing I did when I spent most of my time in chatrooms was when I attended an online wedding. A lot of people were in tears, but I thought the whole thing was rather silly. As far as I know they are still married :)

In conclusion, I'm just glad today's over.

Yikes. Another template. Give me a sec, getting over shock :).
I love reading wht sandwiches u had, always makes me hungry.
I love online forums for edu stuff n all. I love to pick the brains of those who join in. I was in one yesterday and made me feel better.

How is my day? I am walking in a half dazed sleep deprived way today.
My fav sunday school teacher, whn I was 7, loved knitting. So did my best friend frm HS. I can't even sew a button to save my life. My dad used to sew buttons n all for me.

Andrew, admit it. U have sort of an online forum going on here too. See everyone is sharing their stories. Take care. Have u looked at Crusty's post today? So funny!

We're still getting the rain. We have some storms that look like they're going to hit us sometime tonight. I'm tired of it myself. I'd be glad to send some your way in a heartbeat.
And my day was o.k. I'm in a funk today.... but thanks for asking.

Glad to hear your day was good. Soul is soooo right when she says to not let Rosa hear you say anything she does reminds you of your grandmother. Every so often my hubby will say my cooking reminds him of the grandmother's. I'm glad he likes the food but I'm not flattered at the comparison.

My day was busy. Two grandsons (ages 3 and 4)all afternoon, cooked dinner, watched evening news with hubby, posted pictures of our live salt water reefs on my blog, and now I can have my quiet time before bed.

Hope this is a night I can sleep.
Take care

my day was full of avoidance - i cleaned cat pans and water bowls rather than do the web design for the site i am supposed to be working on. go figure. i think it has more to do with my being alone at home rather than not really wanting to work.

other than that, i had good day. made my home made spaghetti for dinner (see july 2005 on my blog for the recipe), which is my favorite meal i make.

You are the first person to ask me that question this day! Thanks~

My day was busy...meetings and activity took me all through the day until now, when I am getting ready to go to bed! It is nice to hear your nice words before retiring for the night...almost makes you real in my world! Rosa is a lucky women to be loved by you~

My day was a pretty darn good one, busy, with very good news, and a short time with a person who can be trying. A pimento cheese spread on crackers kind of day. Thank you for asking.

My day was fine! It sounds like yours was, too. Glad to hear it. I didn't know you walked six miles everyday! Good for you! I feel bad now...I'm eating a cookie sandwich with Rocky road ice cream. No joke....

Oh yeah..Love the new border.

I love cheese pimento. I actually got up late and was supposed to have brunch. Am waiting for my boyfriend though and I haven't eaten yet. I want that we eat together. (LOL)I never heard of online A.A meeting before. Good thing you enjoyed it Andrew..

Really glad to see the both of you are having a good one! You two deserve it.

My day.. Car problems, wondering where the dough to fix it will come from. But other than that not too bad.

Ditto to what soul said. Don't let Rosa know she reminds you of your Granny!!! Might find yourself in the doghouse.

Andrew, your Thursday sounds like a good one. I am so happy that you are going to your AA meetings, it takes a lot of commitment to continue---I think you are just amazing. Save a hot dog for me...although you can keep the kraut. :) Thanks for stopping by these past few days!

My day was busy. My cousin and his wife are coming from CA for a couple of days and I'm having to clean house. I'm excited about having them, because our oldest cousin is going to join us for lunch, along with my brother. There will be four first cousins having lunch together. Two of them haven't seen each other in 64 years. I'm glad you had a good day. I admire Rosa for knitting. I've never had the patience to learn. Do you ever grill you hot dogs? I love them almost burned. :-)
