Lonely...

I can't go to mom's because she needs her sleep.  Dad works all the time.  And George has been obsessively drunk these days (and still managing to keep his job).

I was doing so well on my Coureg CR 50 mg.  I took a turn for the worse this weekend.  I've barely been out of the house.  Physical therapy is turning out to be than I can handle.  3 times a week and I struggle to get there.

"I am going with you next week," mom told me to make sure I go.  "You need to go for your leg to heal and for the nerve to get better."

I guess I've kind of had the funks lately.  Not wanting to do anything that interests me.  A week went by without me turning on this computer.

Maggie's laying on the bed.  She's as happy as a clam.  Helen cooked center cut pork chops yesterday and they were delicious. It really helps having someone else whose human in the house.

Oh, I got a postcard from Cheryl at Myrtle Beach.  Thank You!  I so needed that the other day.  To feel connected to my blog friends again.

Hang in there, all will be better again. We all have our slumps, and you will get out of this one.

You have no idea how much you're missed when you don't show up here for awhile, Andrew. I'm sorry the therapy is proving to be such a struggle but I've seen you overcome far bigger challenges and I know you'll make it thru this one too! Check in when you can, and let us know how you're doing, there are a lot of folks in blogland who care about you! I think if Helen lived near me I'd weigh 300 pounds! I'm glad you enjoy her company as much as her cooking.

I've been wondering where you were! Had a feeling things weren't going so well.
Would it help if you convinced yourself that you actually liked the PT? Maybe befriend someone there? I guess that sounds stupid. I've had so much PT that I actually look forward to going.
Being lonely is rough. Is there any other place you can meet people? Maybe share a cup of coffee or iced tea?
I'm sorry about George. What he's doing is so dangerous. I know he's been your friend for a long time.
Keep us posted.

Hi Andrew,
Yes, you've been missed. I can't imagine your not turning on the computer in a week. I couldn't do that! I have the paperwork to start PT for my hamstring. It's collecting dust. The problem's not getting better but I don't feel like finding the time to go. It's inevitable though. Sounds like it's something you just have to get through. And it puts you in the same room with 'humans' :))

Hope you get to feeling better soon.

I was glad to see your post, Andrew...I was starting to get a little worried about you. We all have times like this and rest assured that it shall pass. I'm also glad that you have Maggie and Helen there....Helen sounds like a dream come true and I think that Maggie would agree!!! Hang in there Andrew...you're not alone...you have US! Hugs.

always good to see you post andrew.
well yes we all feel BLEH or MEH from time to time. just have to keep on keepin on. im the same. i need social contact to remain lively and engaged. i can get morose and quiet when im alone for too long, so all connections re good. dont worry. this mood will pass and you will be back to your usual self in no time :)

I have missed you! PT 3x times a week is a hassle. Been there, done that. But in the end it is worth it.

I hope you will soon feel like posting regularly and keep us all connected. I know it is rough when you feel so down, but hopefully you are on an upswing now.

I understand how you feel. You were truly missed though. PT can be a total pain, but, I was always glad that I went after it was over with. Don't give up!

Sir:

I list the following in case some of the following ideas may be helpful for you:

1. Perhaps a way to feel more comfortable with the physical therapy would be to know or estimate how many more sessions you have scheduled. If that is possible, then counting down to the conclusion of them could be a goal that may make the process seem less taxing.

2. George is a good friend for you whether he is drunk as a skunk or sober as a judge. Perhaps during this time when he is imbibing more than you agree with, it would be a good time to try to visit him at home with his mom (such as in a dinner situation)? His mother always is so glad to see you.

3. Perhaps when you feel the "cabin fever" about your normal routines, it would be a good time to revisit routines you have left behind... perhaps look for others of the old gang, or perhaps look for Dumpster Dan.

4. Perhaps one way to step outside of yourself would be to write an exciting fiction story that you could substitute for posts of your day-to-day on your blog when you do not feel like writing about yourself? The characters could do and act out things you could imagine yourself wanting to do but are not currently engaged in yourself.

5. Perhaps you could start a CafePress store using your photography as the imagery? You could earn some pocket change that way, which could open up other avenues for you to explore as well.

The above are simply suggestions that seem in keeping with things you have enjoyed before, and may enjoy again.

Your friend,

Hi Andrew!! It is good to see you back. You have been missed. Good luck with the physical therapy sessions. They may be difficult to attend but will be so worth the reward in the end. :-)

Hi Andrew! It's good to see a post from your blog light up on my google reader! I miss hearing about your days!

I don't often comment, but I wanted to share with you a new hobby some of my friends have discovered called geocaching. When I read this post, the first thing I thought was - I bet he'd have a blast with this!

Check out the faq - http://www.geocaching.com/faq/
There's a good video too on the main page at www.geocaching.com

Of course, you need a GPS device, but I thought maybe that was something your dad might have and let you borrow.

I'm sure you'll make it through this hump, you're such a strong person!
