Future Lost

I never could comprehend the future. Sure, I try, but usually fail miserably. It is about as incomprehensible as me trying to imagine the kind of life on a planet revolving around a star in the Andromeda galaxy. Lately, days come and go and I have trouble discerning if what happened today actually happened yesterday and/or vice versa. My life is one big dawn and dusk with a bunch of shit thrown in between. Oh, yeah, and that thing called sleep. I almost forgot how to do that simple bodily function earlier in the year with my daring dance with Senorita Insomnia.

I was thinking today about what my life is and what it should be. I came to the conclusion that things are just right so don't any of you go messing with my mojo. No wife. No kids. No problem. A little crazy, but nothing a handful of "happy" pills, as my father calls them, can't cure. It could be a lot worse. My bout with homelessness has proven to be one of my most able teachers about life and what should matter. There is not a day that goes by that I don't thank my lucky stars for my new home. Future lost? I beg to differ. The coming days are looking bright, indeed.

I envy you. I yearn for a small piece of your life. My life is so jumbled up right now with so much busy work. I wish I could just stick it to "Da Man", but I have a 12 year old who looks up to me and needs me. You have changed a great deal in the past year and I love ya even more. Many of us will be here for years to come and would never mess with your mojo. :) Things are just as they should be and I am oh so very happy for you dear friend!

You're living in the moment, man, and that's what so many of us strive for. Not much you can do about the past or the future, just savor the moment you're in right now. Very zen.

Andrew,
Shine your happiness on others, the glare of it, may be all some of us will ever get. Thanks for shining my way, it inspires me to be better~ I want a mojo too:-)

My friend Kit always asks me about my goals. I come up with things like cleaning out a closet. I know that's not what she's talking about, but really, I just live my life one day at a time, and I try to be happy. That's my goal.

Hi Andrew,
I'm not posting any comments lately, but keep reading you every day. So once again, I just wanted to say what a great idea being a writer... which you obviously are... is.
I always thought your blog would provide a great joy and comfort for a lot of readers should it come in a printed form too.
But anyway, have a great day, full of reading, writing, friendship, computing, eating, smoking...
Frendliest feelings,
Laurent
PS : I don't see your email on your blog, do you think you could send it to me so I can write you more personaly? Have a great day!
Mine is gregoire5@free.fr

We often think we want what we don't have or realize our future isn't what we thought it would be when we were small and looking ahead. Tha's just human nature and it happens to all of us at some point in our lives. Life is one big huge lesson and sometimes we even get what we thought we wanted and it turns out to be different than we expected. You are so normal!

I'm glad that you're content with your life..that's exactly the way it should be. Just because you need to take "happy pills," doesn't mean you're in a rough life. We all need "happy pills" of some sort-mine coffee, and cigarettes. :) We all have things that we're content with, or that we wish strongly to improve on.
I'm glad that you're in a good place right now-within your soul and heart. and as long as you keep writing, we'll all keep reading, being there for you.
Always,
Crusty~

I love reading your blog, Andrew. You truly have a writer's heart and I hope that you manage to get your book published.
I am not working right now, and would love some extra income. Maybe 'the homeless guy' didn't appreciate the lesson you gave him on how to make income on your blog, but I would dearly love to learn from your experience. Could you e-mail me and give me the same lesson? Would this work out in Canada as well as the U.S.? I would so appreciate anything you can tell me.
Thank you and take care.

You obviously have the ability to appreciate and learn from life's lessons. You value them and take them to heart..and then, you share them with us. Thank you.

That made me smile.

That's the kind of thing that only someone says when it's them and that, that thing beyond. The unknown.

Well, how it seems to me to read that.

Or at least when you strip it all down and look at those naked bones standing there.

Hope alls well mate.
