Big Mac Time...

Took my mother to lunch today.  McDonald's.  I had a terrible craving for their french fries.

"Surely you can't eat two Big Macs and a large fry at one sitting," Mom protested as we ordered.

"Watch me," I replied. "I might even get an apple pie."

We finished our lunch and came back to my house.  Mom stayed for about an hour and the small talk with her today was excruciating.  She wouldn't carry on a conversation.

I also had a long phone conversation with my father about getting Maggie a companion puppy.  I've proven with Maggie that I am responsible enough for a dog.  I fear Maggie is bored shitless here at home and needs a canine friend.  So, I will keep my eyes out for a small dog that will fit through my dog door.

Not to burst your bubble, dear friend but think carefully before adding another pet to your family. I cannot do anything with just one dog, the other has to come along. I cannot just take Tippy for a walk cuz Mikey will tear up the house. Fred can't take Mikey for a truck ride cuz Tippy will tear up the house. Both Dogs though are very good friends with our cats. And there's no jealousy. Perhaps a nice indoor/outdoor kitty will be Maggie's friend.

Why force a conversation. Silence has to be beard too. And sometimes it can be good to simply sit and be quiet.

That sounds yummy.

Be careful with choosing a companion. Some solo animals end up not doing well with a friend. When you find a possible animal friend, ask if you can bring Maggie to let them meet, or even better, ask for a 3 day trial period to see if they get along.

Hugs my friend!

People are amazed that my son can eat five cheeseburgers from McDonalds and sometimes has a shake as well.

We have 2 dogs and although sometimes it's more trouble (they are big) they do seem to keep each other company. We get such a kick out of watching them play together, outside that is. Inside it's a whole nother story.

We have five large (rescued) dogs and it's chaotic at the best of times! They are all indoor dogs and have a routine. It works well but I still think the best thing you can do for Maggie is to get a harness and take her for walks. Any animal would be bored never going for a walk.

It's not as if she's too big to control on a leash or harness!!!

That's a good idea, getting a friend for Maggie...I have watched an-old-before-her-time dog get very young and frisky again, after we got her a friend. But it has to be the right kind of friend, dog's are so very territorial and competitive. I'll just bet though, that she is just laid back and calm and obedient enough to handle it. It's will be fun for you, too.

BigMacs are my favorite on the McD's menu. I eat way too many myself:) Another dog in the house sounds like it could be exciting for both of you!
