- I vehemently tried to warn my father and doctor that going on Zyprexa would cause me to be so drowsy I couldn’t function. I have stayed in the bed for a week – so drowsy I could barely keep my eyes open. Some of that initial drowsiness had started to wear off. I feel as if I have rejoined the land of the living. I personally want to try some of the newer anti-psychotics like Geodon and Abilify.
- I began today with plans to paint the outside and inside of my house. Dad and I are going soon to the hardware store to buy paint, drop cloths, ladders, and brushes. I am very excited about this new goal of mine. Dad said if I would paint, then he would fund it. I already have the colors in mind. Bone white for all the pine trim inside and a nice dark tan for the outside which is currently a faded grey. I am extremely afraid of heights so it will be interesting me getting up on the ladder to paint the back of the house.
- Today is one of the first times I have been on the internet in a week. I expected a lot of blog posts to eagerly read written by my friends. Sadly, it seems everyone was like me and have been quiet.
- I have a week’s worth of Coast to Coast AM shows to listen to. I will listen to them as I paint the trim on the inside.
- Mom was very alarmed when I quit coming over every morning at 4am or 5am to get my Cokes. She has been hand delivering them everyday.
- The Zyprexa made me ravenously hungry and I have consumed all the food in my house. I have one frozen meal to last me until Wednesday.

I am happy to hear you are back with the land of the living and inspired enough to take on a project. I am sure it takes time to adjust to knew meds and figured that is what was going on. I hope you can find something that works and still allows you to be Andrew. Have missed you this week, but understand your quiet time. Can't wait to see pictures of the paint job. I have been waiting for months for my husband to paint, but so far nothing.
So glad that you are back, Andrew. I missed you! Give Maggie a pat on the head for me.

Scaffolding can be rented at a hardware store. It isn't expensive to rent and your father would probably be glad for you to be painting safely on the back of the house.
It is awfully hot out. Get out early and come in before lunchtime. Pace yourself. Be sure to drink ample water.
If I sound like somebody's old Mama....
Hey, Andrew! Hugs!
welcome back, friend. you were missed!
Glad to see you are back online -- be oh so careful re the Zyprexa as it causes such weight gain, and that is not good for you with your bulemia issues. My daughter is on Geodon which works reasonably well for her; Abilify doesn't. Seroquel helps ease some of the intense activation/anxiety that Geodon can cause, but it can also make you very sleepy. Missed your posts!
Welcome back! You were missed.

Just glad you are back and alright, friend! :)
Big Hugs....

Missed you. Tell your parents you need more food. And I agree, paint early in the morning, I have been mowing early and it doesn't exhaust me so and I don't get sunburned!!!
Welcome back! I had similar problems with hunger cravings on Zyprexa. Knowing what I know now, I'm surprised that I didn't gain weight on it since I wasn't very physically active at the time.
Thank God! Glad to hear that you're okay and that you will be painting your house. Love the colors.
yeah, people don't post so much anymore, it is always nice to read you so regularly!
Glad u are feeling better. Nice you have a project to keep you occupied.
If your parents dont feed you until Wednesday I would say that's very very sad.
Tell them you need food. If they don't help you, turn them in to social services and get someone to manage your affairs better.
It's good to see you are back and have a new project to tackle.
welcome back , worried about you , just relax and try to do only what you are able to , its nice to have a goal , dont beat yourself up , no one knows how drugs will affect one individual
so enjoy your paint party and send pics
glad to see you again :)
Hi Andrew, I usually just read and don't comment. I've heard Zyprexa can give you a huge appetite, hopefully that will subside. It sounds like its working. My son is adjusting to all sorts of different meds right now so I empathize with you, but its worth it to feel better!
I was getting concerned - but my paranoid side worried that I shouldn't comment too much . . maybe you were just taking a blog break! At least we now know that you're more or less fine - and all you need is a pantry re-fill! Just ask Mom to stick a few things in the bag with your Cokes! She'll fill you up for sure!
The painting plans sound great! Be sure to take your time . . it will be there no matter how long it takes you to get it done. You haven't done that much really physical work lately and may find that your muscles are gonna let you know just how unhappy they are!
And I imagine that Maggie will want to join you on the ladder. Her tail might just make a good brush!!
Looking forward to the next update, dear.
Love ya,
Grannie
Glad you're back to posting, we were getting quite worried about you! Interesting how you were right about the medication after all, I think you should trust your instincts about that. Painting sounds great, I love the idea of the bright white trim, should look pretty. Take care and be careful! - Sharon -
Happy to see you back!! I understand with the Zyprexa.
Isn't tomorrow mexican Tuesday? lol I can't remember..but tell your mom you need food from the store now! If I lived near you I would bring you some!
Dark tan sounds nice for your house. It's a big job..but should be fun too.. :)
Glad to hear you are back. I was starting to get a bit worried about you.
Painting your house will be quite a project and should give you a good sense of accomplishment.
Sir:
I am glad you are back, but I am concerned that you may be drifting into a long-term "hibernation" due to your medication as you have suggested. That does not seem to be a way to live, laying in bed all day, every day.
