Pushy Vegans...

I keep having this woman on Twitter DM,ing me to join the Vegan lifestyle.  She twits about it all the time as well - the virtues, the health effects, environmental impacts, etc.  It's getting old.  I don't go out and try to recruit people into eating more beef or chicken.  EAT CHICKEN! GET MORE PROTEIN!  And I certainly don't want to be eating nuts and twigs three times a day. Being Vegan is a fine and dandy choice of lifestyle. Just don't try to push it on me.

Block her and be done with her!

I know what you mean. I like cheeseburgers and lemon pound cake but I don't try to force it on people. Haha.

I hope you and Maggie Mae are having a good evening. Does she still run around the back yard like a crazy dog with your socks? When I think about that video you posted a while ago, it always makes me laugh.

Yeah, just unfollow/block her. Being vegan myself (for animal rights reasons.), I can understand her enthusiasm about the cause. But it's terribly rude of her to constantly DM you about it. Granted, I can also see another viewpoint of "If you convert one person, you're going to save hundreds of animals per year." But, I think you're WAY too much of a foodie to be easily converted. :)

Hee, and we don't necessarily eat salads and vegetables all day. I always liked rice and pasta and toast so it wasn't a hard transition.

When our daughter got married 12 years ago, the caterer sighed, "What do you do with the people who don't eat meat? Turn 'em out in the field to graze?" Actually, he came up with a nice pasta dish.

Been a Vegan is fine..if you really enjoy that lifestyle...but i woulkd HATE it myself..i would never try to talk a vegan out of being one (although there is lots of views that say it is not as healthy as they would have us believe !!)..but i dont think they should try to change your lifestyle & eating habits either..especially if they keep on about it..what a pain....veggies are bad enough..but not so limited as Vegans..great if they are happy all the best to them..but leave us foodies alone.

After reading my own last comment..i think i wrote it in a way that may have made it look as if a Vegetarian lifestyle was 'bad' in my opinion ??...this REALLY wasn't my intention, and i know it isn't true..i have several veggie friends & they are all healthy and fit..there are even times when i too have a week or few days when i only eat a vegetarian diet..and i feel very good afterwards...but it was PUSHY folkin general & especially Pushy Vegans that i was talking about..the ones who try to force you into eating as they do..sorry if i upset anyone it wasn't my intention at all....at the end of the day we should all make our own choices what we do or do not eat.

I agree about blocking the nagging vegan. You can select who your friends are any time you choose. If you feel bad about it, tell her that you respect her lifestyle, but it isn't for you and to please stop.

If she doesn't stop after that, then you can block her - at least you'll know that you gave her fair warning!

Oh - and there's also the problem of your lifemate (Maggie) not being particularly fond of veggies. In fact, she if quite the meat eater!
