No Cat Chasing Here Today…

Maggie and I are both having a lazy day after her walk and  our nap.  I’ve gotten so lazy that Maggie’s walks have devolved into quick little jaunts around the neighborhood – something to be rushed and hurried.    Maggie doesn’t want to come inside when we get home knowing she has been short changed.   I feel terrible about it, but I no longer have the desire, heart or inclination to spend two hours everyday walking six miles.

I dont know how you managed 6 miles everyday, especially in the colder weather...but dogs do get used to it...I am dog sitting for my Sonn whil;e he is on holiday and Flynn is used to LONG walks across the nearby fields etc, but the weather as been so bad here that everywhere was boggy..(and also i am not as fit as my Jimmy & Polly.).so flynn as had to settle for much shorter ones than he is used to, but he does gat at least 2 a day..and boy as he let me know, a real sulky look on his face and walking to the door about 5 times an hour !!..they are back tuesday so things will be better for him..and me.

I think the motivation comes and the motivation goes, it's a cycle, an ebb and flow as the days go on. It usually takes some big event or some well placed words of practical advice from someone i respect to get me fired up and motivated again. I try not to beat myself up and try to remember that i just need to continue to live healthy and the ebb and flow will swing the other way and i'll have the motivation to do those things again.
