Let's Sing Carols!

My neighbor's house down the street.  I love how understated this is.  It's not gaudy.  I want to decorate my house exactly like this.  I am so in the Christmas spirit.

"I couldn't find you a suitable tree," my father told me on the phone tonight.

"It's okay," I replied, disheartened.  I was hoping all day he would pull up in his pickup truck to unload a Christmas tree.

"We'll get you one, though.  I am going to check Ponder's nursery for some that are not too big. The ones in Columbus were huge!"

I hung up the phone and began to hum Jingle Bells.  I haven't been this excited about Christmas in years.  I am really channeling my youth these days and it feels good.

Andrew,
Your neighborhood seems similar to mine. Well groomed homes, with a touch of simplicity that is very classy in my eyes. I share your appreciation with Christmas this year. I often am too tired or stressed to really appreciate it for what it is.
Even without a tree, you can indulge yourself with decorations and lights that encapsulates your excitment for the season. Have fun!!

My Christmas spirit is slowly leaking in. The tree is up and lit everyday, but I don't have the house covered in lights like normal. The lights are my favorite part. We'll turn the lamps off and just sit around in the colorful lights. I'm gonna have to do that.

I hope you get a tree soon! I want to see pictures!

I agree, understated is the way to go.

Hope he brings you a tree tomorrow!

OK...there's nothing understated in my house. My outside's pretty simple. It's a good thing I can't get up on the roof! I hope you get your tree really soon. Do you have ornaments?

He'll bring your tree. I put mine up tonight. No ornaments on it, just the tree and the lights. Gives the living room a soft glow. Then we turned on National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. I love that movie.

My favorite line..."Yes Eddie, I couldn't be more surprised if I woke up tomorrow morning with my head sewn to the carpet."

Snort.

Oh Andrew, I'm so glad that he didn't forget about it! It will be so nice to make it feel festive in your own house for your very first Christmas there! I agree with you, this house is beautiful! We wish you a Merry Christmas too!

I think a little holiday music just might help me catch some Christmas spirit. I appreciate the nudge.

I like this house also. We haven't decorated at all outside since we moved. Maybe we will get to this year.

The house is decorated beautifully. Thanks for sharing the picture with us.
I hope your tree arrives soon. When it does, you must decorate it and then turn the lights out, put Christmas music on and sip a nice cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows. :)

For me the magic of Christmas grew when my boys grew to be old enough to recognize the excitement.
