Watching the Play Unfold...

Veronica, one of my father's pharmacy techs, got tickled with me today at work.  I was sweeping the front floor of the pharmacy as I got lost listening to patrons coming in.

"John, look at him," Veronica told my father.

Dad laughed.

"What is so interesting, son?" Dad asked as I was propped up on the broom as some customers conversed out of earshot.

"Your customers are fascinating," I replied.

"Crazy is more like it," Veronica quipped.

"Oh, he is gonna blog about this when he gets in his office!" Dad exclaimed.

We all burst out laughing.

Watching people has always been my favorite past time. Glad you are having a good time at work!

I can't imagine a small Southern town not being the best place for fascinating characters - ala Faulkner or Fried Green Tomatoes!

Have fun with the people-watching, but don't be too obvious when you blog... ;-)

I always find myself watching people. I also have people wondering what I am doing and then realize that I am people watching. The mall is one of my favorite places to watch people or a bookstore and such.

People watching is so much fun! I have a friend that travels a lot with her job. She calls me from the airport and describes people she is watching, like, "oh, here comes a woman that looks like a elephant wearing slippers." It cracks me up. My husband "reads" people's minds. It is so funny some of the stuff he makes up that they are thinking. I'm so easily entertained.

Real proud of you with the 98 days and the job. Is Dad going to pay you with a check? Real taxes and all?

I'm glad you're working for your dad again. I think this is the best job for you. It's flexible and he'll make sure you don't lose you're benefits. So have you bought any train stuff yet?

YAY! Sweeping while people-watching. It's all grist for the blog mill. You said that northerners aren't allowed to laugh at your complaint about the 31-degree cold weather, so I won't. Anyway, I guess I am no longer really a "northerner" since we now live in Maryland, south of the Mason-Dixon line. Winters are milder here than in northwestern PA where I grew up, but I'm beginning to hear funny things about the winters there from my relatives. Global warming, I guess. It scares me.

I've always wanted to work the front end of a drug store. It would seem so comforting to sweep, stock some shelves and dig the people coming and going/

That makes me curious about whether or not I am ever watched. Am I interesting enough to a stranger to watch? Do I interest a person enough to watch? That intrigues me.

Someone, somewhere, watch me!!!

Awesome Andrew. I don't pop in alot, but I am happy when I do, esp. seeing you with less angst and more smiles.
