I finished reading book three of the Twilight series this afternoon. Each book has been much the same with the first 3/4th’s of the book being vampire romance and character development and introspection. Each book concludes with a grand and sweeping action sequence of vampire fights. I can see why guys just weren’t captivated by these books. They are incredibly slow and filled with romance. That said, there is something endearing about them. I can almost find myself falling in love with Edward, the central vampire in the book and Bella’s lover. He is so appealing. I will start book four tomorrow afternoon after I grow tired of fiddling with the Internet and my computer. Also, tomorrow, I hope to swing by the library to find copies of Anne Rice’s vampire books. It’s a vampire themed reading month here at Andrew’s.

An attorney friend contacted me today warning me of how easily it was to find my father and his pharmacy on the Internet. Apparently, an anonymous commenter said they were going to report my father (I missed this comment). I assume it was to report him giving me medications un-prescribed. I assure you, the only medications I am taking are prescribed either by my psychiatrist or my brother and sister. I am prescribed, by Dr. Kern, extra Risperdal and Klonopin to take in emergencies. Dad long ago learned his lessons about such things running a pharmacy for 30 years. He dots his I’s and crosses his T’s. Thank you to the concerned and caring friend who is an attorney. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for contacting me and looking out for me and the blog.

Another very good vampire book is "Lost Souls" by Poppy Z. Brite. I was madly in love with the main character, Nothing, when I was 20. LOL. It's probably a lot more chaotic and violent than the Twilight series though.
All I will say here is GRRRRRRRRR. I've had my troubles with annonymous commenters and threats. I guess that's why I don't blog much anymore.
I've read some of the Anne Rice books. You will like them far better. A little more boyish for sure! Ha!
Usually anonymous posters are ashamed of what they are saying or doing. That's why they won't give an email address. If they had any backbone at all, they would sign their work and be proud of their opinion.

Ann Rice's vampire books are good...especially the first couple. They got a bit too much for me after 2nd or 3rd one but I like most of her books in general. DEFINITLY more adult level reading than Twilight and all. But I enjoyed Twilight as well.
But if you want a very good vampire book and can handle the way it is written Bram Stokers Dracula is AWESOME just a bit difficult the way it bounces around from place to place and person to person But once you get the pattern it is good and it all comes ultimitly together. I am glad you are able to enjoy rewading again.

Re Twilight: How strange, I am currently reading the first three books, which I was given for Christmas. They're OK, a little adolescent for my tastes! So far (having just finished the second), I much prefer Jacob to Edward. Edward's just so damned perfect. Guess I'll always be a Buffy gal at heart though...
I can't believe anyone could be so nasty or judgemental as that 'anonymous' who made threats regarding your Dad...where do they get their ideas from !!!(another reason i hate anonymity..except in the VERY RARE circumstances when it is unavoidable)..i think i may take anonymous replies from both of my blogs..but mine aren't very interesting (well the one definately isn't)and i dont think many folk read them anyway...sometimes it just helps me to write, especially just lately, i do it more for my own sanity than to entertain others..also i like to read some of my old posts and see how my life as changed...Anyway the Saddo that wrote that to you..just wasted their time didn't they..just bitter & twisted, no wonder they wrote anonymously.
By the way i read all the 'Twilight' books..i didn't think i would enjoy them..but i even brought the Hardback edition...my friend told me about them... But they were written for Teens..not adults, so i didn't expect them to be as good as they actually were...have you finished 'Gone with the Wind' yet Andrew ?
As a long time daily reader of your wonderful blog, here's what has worried me, Andrew. I recall once long ago when you commented that you are not foolhearty enough to use your real name etc on your blog, yet for a time recently you posted your classmates.com or facebook (or something) link that clearly showed your true identity. That, paired with intimate knowledge of your fathers business, photos of your neighborhood and vehicle, stories of your favorite haunts and associates...all that combined could make you an easy target to be located and abused or exploited or worse. It had never occured to me that someone could be so evil as to 'turn in' your father, but I had considered how easy it would be for someone to use your shared information to locate your father and inform him how to access your blog. Obviously you post thoughts and feelings that you would not want your loved ones to read, not only to protect yourself but to protect them as well. I would hate for someone to do harm to you. I love reading your blog every day, and applaud your successes and worry about your challenges. I encourage you to be cautious with personal information regarding names locations and such.

I just read book 3 as well,in my opinion it was slow! I am hoping our library has the last book in the series.
The comment did not say I was going to turn anyone in. This is how rumors get started. Get your facts straight.

You say he doesn't give you meds unprescribed. BS. I can locate the post where you were leary of a "new pink pill" he was trying to get you to take and you wouldn't because it wasn't prescribed. You didn't know what it was.
I can locate a post where you say that your fathers brother came into the pharmacy with a brown paper bag, and proceeded to fill it up with pills, while your father was gone and the employees watched. You laughed at his behavior.
So now you say your brother and sister perscribe you meds? They don't even live in the same state! So they perscribe you drugs w/o examining you?? That's lovely.

"We had something interesting happen at work tonight. My uncle helped himself to some prescription drugs by walking into the back room. He walked back out and wrote a check for the medications. My father was livid and the girls seem to think he got an interesting combination of medications.
"I am going to have a talk with him soon," Dad said fuming.
"That was just wrong," I replied and it was very uncharacteristic of my uncle Roger. "How imposing!"
