Many times you go into your pet store and see Bettas swimming around in little bowls. They can get away with this as Bettas are anabantids meaning they are in a class of fish that can breathe air by taking air bubbles into their mouths. Although doable, it is not good for the fishes' long term health. This is how I want my Betta tank to look. It must have a filter and a heater as well. A Betta will thrive in a temperature range of 78° to 80° Fahrenheit.
