A Reason Not to Drink...

Those eyes. That homely under bite. This is close as I will ever get to having a child. She is dependent upon me for food, shelter, and all the things a dog may need. It is imperative that I stay sober to be a good caretaker of her. The alcohol can be all encompassing once I start. Life and my cherub pup go neglected.

Look at that face! I just want to grab her and snuggle and smooch her!!

Good reason, my friend.

Andrew,
How did Maggie like the tree and all the lights? I wondered if she got excited having the new tree and all :)

That is quite an impressive underbite. I am sure that your dog feels a sympathetic depression when you drink. A good reason to avoid it.

She is precious and I am happy she is one reason for you to stop drinking.
I am very proud of you for not drinking and working on it. I know it must be a struggle but I see you overcoming that obstacle as you have so many others.
Have a great Sunday! I hope the temperature is as warm and nice there as it is here in Joppa.

(If you're from Joppa, you don't pronounce it properly it takes on a new pronunciation, Jop-EE. HEHEHEHE) As I have learned since living here since 1991. But, I still call it Joppa. Not Jop-EE.

See, we can always find good reasons to do what is best, since every choice we make affects others as well. Who could resist the needs and love of this little furry angel? I am so glad you have her to remind you that sober life is good!

Yes, Maggie is the best reason to hang on to.

Wow, wish it was 70 here, freezing rain is due to start this evening and into tomorrow morning.

Great idea to write out your feelings. Writing is a great tool for so many things.

Have a nice evening.

Maggie is so like a little dog I once had.. Her name was Jamaica. She had the same under bite Maggie has, so cute! And the same body shape... She had the same wiry readish under hair with lots of longer blond tips mixed in. Same whiskers around her face... same color marking on her neck and feet. I had my Jamaica for almost 18 years. A very long time, I would imagine, in doggy years. I know how much joy Jamaica brought to my life so I can fully understand how much joy Maggie brings to yours. I hope you and your Maggie have as many joyful years together as my old friend and I had. Quite a commitment... but so worth every minute!

I haven't visited here in awhile but it looks like you're doing pretty good.

What an adorable dog! I had a dog with an underbite and it gives them character. She looks like a really ferocious guard dog!

There's a lot to say about a dog's presence in your life. We can never repay them for the love and loyalty that they show us.
