I think i read one of your commenters say recently to bring his food bowl a little bit closer to your house each day?..this is good advice..There is an old boy who hangs around the village here, some one said his owners left the area a few months ago, and left him behind ( how sad is that) he as been hanging around for about that long..he was very nervous at first and wouldn't come near the house, but would occasionaly go into my shed if i left the door open..i feed him every day..gradually he got closer & closer to my back door..but always shied away from actually coming in..the past few weeks he actually let me stroke him..i had tried for ages but he kept running off...then in all the nasty weather we had recently he turned up outside soaked to the skin, i felt so sorry for him as he is an old boy..so i put his food JUST inside the door and left it open for him..to my amazement he did actually come in and eat it..(i stayed on the sofa as i didn't want to scare him off)..after he had finished i could not believe what he did..he came over got into Baileys bed by the radiator and curled up and went to sleep..about a foot away from me..since then he comes in every day..has a bit of fuss sits on the chair or the window and stays for about an hour or two (more if the weather is bad)..then he toddles off outside again..( I put a picture of him onto my blog recently lying in Baileys bed, dont know if you saw it or not) so I wouldn't give up Andrew..just bring his food closer and keep your distance at first...it may take time..but he could well befriend you in time..by the way how does Maggie get on with him ?..if he isn't used to dogs this could be another problem..but he looks a lovely boy.
Joy, Lucky and Maggie have a truce and completely ignore each other -- an ambivalence. I will try your suggestions. Lucky is looking so much better getting good food every day. He was having to hunt mice and stuff for his food I think.
What a beautiful cat. Yellow cats make the best pets. Well, all cats are good pets to me because I am a cat person. I just lost my beloved Oscar Snuggles. Still lots of pain, but not as many tears.
Cat are such a calming creature. They can also be very entertaining as well. They are smart and they can survive alone. Unfortunately, dogs can't do that, they have to have humans to survive.
Good suggestion about moving the food closer and closer each time he is fed.
That's a beautiful cat! The advice to move the food bowl closer and closer is good, cats will adopt you if you keep feeding them and they'll be yours forever.

Thats one lucky cat...
Glittermom,
Despite my best efforts, he still won't let me come very close to him. He is fiercely independent except for his daily dose of stinky stuff he eats.
