A Tarnished Twitterer…
I am quickly becoming un-enamored with Twitter. It seems everyone on there is an attention whore. I am guilty of it myself looking for replies in what I write. I don’t want to be that kind of person – seeking attention at the sake of my dignity. Most people talk about wildly uninteresting things to me. TV. Pop culture. Obscure and crappy music. Etc. I unfollowed over 200 people yesterday in my quest to make my twitter stream a better place. Tonight, I didn’t even open Twhirl and join in. All the Kiwis post this time of night and they seem to only talk about New Zealand pop culture and television. I want to get to know a person. I want someone to share some feeling and emotion with me. I have found this sort of thing is very few and far between. Oh, Facebook and now Twitter have fallen to the wayside. Will any social media other than blogging suit me?
A Straight Water Convert…
This is a very interesting new occurrence for me. I was compulsively drinking just gallons and gallons of sugar free Wal-Mart orange drink. I ran out and mom was out of town so I couldn’t get more so I started to just drink water. I have a big two gallon glass container and I fill it with ice and water. The water has to be ice cold for me to drink it. This is just amazing and I think it will be healthier for me. I am not ingesting all that Nutrasweet. I am actually really enjoying the ice water much to my surprise. I thought I would find it lacking. I have never been able to drink water and have drank tea and sodas all my life.
George Update…
Mrs. Florene called me late last night telling me George was denied bail by the judge during his afternoon hearing. This means he will have to sit in jail until his court date in a few weeks. This also meant he lost his job. I am very saddened by that. George had such a good for him and a good paying job. It had made such a big difference in the quality of life for him and his mother. Now, Mrs. Florene will have to go back to faring off of her Social Security. I will worry about her. I wish I could wave a wand and fix it all. My father is a fixer and likes to fix everything including me. It has rubbed off on me over the years.

I'm sorry George is in jail. Maybe this will straighten him out. I'm glad you gave cigarettes to the poor guy. You could have gotten away with just giving him 2 or 3 single cigarettes, you know? Take care of Mrs. Florene for us...
I am so sorry to hear about George. I was so hoping that he'd tame the beast. Wal Mart may have a program for it's employees, they may give him a second chance.
I'm so sorry to hear George is in jail, but as you know he just wasn't quite ready to give up his drinking yet. Will this drive home to him how important it is that he quit drinking? I hope so. Maybe you should remind him of the guy in the wheelchair who was hit by a car - George is just lucky that when he was out drunk driving he didn't hurt himself or someone else. All you can do is continue to be a good friend to George and Ms. Florene and hope that he comes to the right decision on his own.
My scatterd thoughts on your thoughts!
Most of the twitter folks I follow are connected to my racing and it helps me keep up with what's going on. I have a few close friends that I follow and that's it. I tried branching out a little and found ever so much B.S.! Trimmed back to the bare essentials and love it!
Ugh - straight water! Our water is just awful. Used to have a well and would drink that constantly. But this 'city' water is so full of chemicals that I just can't stand it. When you turn on the tap, you can smell it! I finally broke down and bought one of those pitchers with a filter built in. That helped so much - I now drink water about half the time. The rest of the time it's my sweet tea addiction!
Mrs. Florene is going to need her "other" son more than ever right now. Try to remember to call her at least a couple of times a week just so she knows she's not alone. (Check the oil in her car, too - I bet she doesn't!) George is going to get forced detox while in jail. Maybe that will be a start to a better future! Just be the friend for him that he has been for you.
Smile, my dear - you are a good person!
Love ya,
Grannie
I do hope Mrs Florene is able to cope o.k...also that Georges sentance isn't too long..but long enough to make him realise how much worse it could have been if he had injured (or even killed) someone..I am glad you are enjoying the benefits of Water, i drink a lot of water,(iced when the weather is warm) and i actually prefer it to orange or flavoured drinks..i found that when i started drinking it in quantity about 6 years ago..my skin became much smoother, and i felt much better in myself..Also when i went to a salon for a fake Tan last year the assistant said that for my age my skin was very smooth and she asked me if i drank a lot of water...when i said yes how can you tell ??..she said all her ladies that drank water had smooth skin for their age....dont get me wrong i'm no glamour puss (I wish)..but i have no wrinkles and i am 63..and i'm sure this is because of the water.. you will be like a teenager in a few months Andrew !!!...LOL
