Is it typical to skin a tomato in the South for sandwiches? I had never heard of that previously. Up here we slice tomatoes whole and eat the skins.

Pipe, that's the way we have always done it and my grandmother and her sisters did as well. It must be a Southern thing. Dad can skin a tomato in just a few seconds.
