Attitude of Gratitude!

The negative is always easier to dwell on. I wonder why that is?

It's fun to see you speak, and to listen to your gratitude lists.

But I have to say -- 6 Klonopin at once, Andrew? Not a good thing, and just as an addictive high as alcohol. Ask for the strength to stop obsessing, to take your meds as prescribed, and then try to live that: one day at a time, one HOUR at a time if necessary.

Are you losing weight? You seem skinnier. Tell Helen to feed you a little extra next time she cooks!

Mary,

I don't think I've lost weight although I haven't weigh since my last psychiatrist visit when I weighed around 180. I want to weigh 160, but I know I would be too skinny.

Beth,

I was kind of joking about the six Klonopin, although it is very tempting when Charlie brings my medications. Dad won't let me go out of the room for thirty minutes after I take my meds. Charlie just hands me a little packet of them and tells me to take them later in the evening. Very tempting indeed.

I'm glad to know you were kidding, even sort of. Your dad may be a bit too paranoid, but I suspect that is from experience with you and fear that you might try it again.

We are powerless over people, places and things -- but NOT over ourselves and our actions. That helps me sometimes to remember just what I can and cannot do.
