A Twist of Fate…

Rogers BBQMy father stopped by with lunch today – a barbecue plate from Roger’s
Barbecue. I was overjoyed as I really can’t afford to eat the delicious fare there.  A barbecue plate is $8.99. That’s a lot of double cheeseburgers from Mickey D’s.

“I wish you would just let me open another tab with them so you could get a good meal with vegetables everyday,” he told me.  “They have the best sweet tea as well.”

“Dad, I would weigh 300 pounds plus in a few short months eating at Roger’s everyday,” I haughtily replied, but I did tell my father thank you for the offer.

Dad brought my medications as well for which I was overjoyed.  He has an obligation tonight that he can’t get out of. I think it is continuing education for pharmacists down in Auburn.  Charlie is going grocery shopping with me.

Hey Andrew. Or Jonathan. Or whatever. It's me, Sharyna. I don't even know if you read comments anymore but here goes. I am sorry. Someone put the doubt in my mind that you weren't real. Evidently, you lied about some girl which brought everything you've ever written into suspect, including but not limited to "someone called Walmarts near where you said you lived and asked for you when you should have been working and they had no record of you" or "someone called all the pharmacies for a 100 mile area and none of them had a Jonathan Minter Sr as a Pharmacist". I never really dwelled on it, but of course you wouldn't use your real name, maybe not even your real town. Maybe a town you vacationed in as a child and knew well. But I asked myself today, if he is fake, why isn't he still writing for the money? Why is he writing at all, if no one comments anymore? PLUS, if you remember, you helped me thru a dark spot when I needed you. So, my friend, I do believe you exist. Pretty much in the form you describe. You are not a 600lbs woman in Alaska. Altho you could use more profile pics on facebook (let's face it, we're tired of "Hat on", "Hat off"). lol I believe it's as you said. You write now for yourself. Plus you have the habit of going to your blog which makes it easy. So keep writing. I'll keep reading. OK? Oh, and that time you were gone for several months? We're you in jail or hospital? People were talking. People who said they'd never desert you and started a "missing Johnthan" website, who now never comment. Yeah, those people. Hey, did you hear thehomelessguy is getting homed again? In sunny San Diego. His book never took off but he's switching to wordpress and concentrating on his facebook account. The one he urges people to friend. The one he unfriended me from. Yeah, that one. Well, I'm done. Sorry to use this public forum but I didn't think you'd read an email even if I had the correct addy. Anyway. Love you. Oh and help that girl if she calls. Someone has to stand up to the bullies in some way, even if it's just getting the victim to safety. Night Night!

Andrew is very much a real person. He's definitely not a 600 lb woman from Alaska. I know because I once had a wellness check done on him during one of his dark times. I was pretty worried about it. Luckily, many years ago, he had given me his address so I could send a Christmas card.

Sometimes people make mistakes and it takes time for others to get over it. I was really upset about the whole fake girlfriend profile, but after a few months of reading silently, I got over it.

I know Andrew has a good heart. He is not trying to hurt people. In fact, if it weren't for Andrew, I would have never met Annabel (in person even!) or had met some incredible people with their own blogs. Having read this blog for many years, I know how to read in between the lines. I give him the benefit of the doubt, as I am sure others do as well.

See, I needed you, Billy, when the nay sayers hit! But, like you, I have gotten over the whole fake whatever. I just used this forum because I don't think I have a current email address for Andrew. (Both of us have phone-phobias, so we never exchanged those) Never thought about a physical address too much cuz I lived (at that time) in CA and never thought I'd head this way (now in TN). But I did. Oh, maybe you know, Billy; what ever happened to Liz? She wrote a blog much like Andrew's. A day to day thing of a disabled, in this case, woman. She had some sort of little dog, I think. Do you know what happened to her?
