James Horner, the consummate film composer known for his heart-tugging scores for Field of Dreams, Braveheart and Titanic, for which he won two Academy Awards, died Monday in a plane crash near Santa Barbara. He was 61.
This is so very sad for me. He was one of my favorite composers along with John Williams who composed the Star Wars theme. I was listening to the Avatar soundtrack just last night. Rumor has it that he was working on the Avatar 2 soundtrack at his death.

May his memory be a blessing.
He was a member of my tribe, a Jew.
Such a terrible loss.
